Power greatsword most particularly

Been asking for them for months ever since I saw them on a mini.

Think we’re rebutting against ourselves, yes. I think we agree, we are just saying it in different ways.

I read till that.

Those are human weapon, they have SM pattern but they used to be human pattern first.

Those are Chain Fist though, and the Eight fold Harvest lord, though he may possibly be blessed is still a normal human.

I know the Imperial Commander from DoW 1 had Lightning Claws. However their general use case is said to be for Space Marines, and also Ordo Malleus Inquisitors.

Frankly I don’t want a dumb oversized fist. They look fine on astartes units but look f-ing stupid on humans. I would much rather a slimmed-down redesign.

Actually I think you will find I have the opposite opinion.

Full-sized power fists on human-sized units look stupid. The ones pictured should be about 20% smaller.

I much prefer concussion knuckles anyway, they do basically the same thing but look far more visually appealing. All I can think when I see that stupid cahinfist you posted is “lol foam finger.” And the other one “lol hulk hands.”

That is personal opinion and I would prefer FS not bastardize the 40k aesthetic any more than they already have.

and I would prefer what I prefer.

The aesthetic of some weapons (almost exclusively the power fist family of weapons) on normal humans just looks dumb. I always think when I see those models that it is a kitbash. I mean heck the various wikis on 40k weapon lore mostly only mention power fist family of weapons as being almost exclusively inquisitor (inquisitors in power armor specifically) and astartes weapons and make very little mention of them being used by people not in power armor. There are of course some human-sized power armor or powered exoskeletons (that second one is one such suit), but our rejects certainly don’t have such a thing. In the cases where no power armor is present the wikis make mention of a large power-pack being required to deliver enough energy to the fist to make it function properly for any length of time. This is the main reason I see that first image and think “kitbash” because where is the power pack? the second one clearly is in some kind of powered suit so that is fine but the first one? may as well just be a hulk hand with no power source.

Imperial platoon commanders can get Power Fists. Idk where you’re getting this info from but it’s wrong. It is not a Power Armored Inquisitor exclusive weapon by any stretch of the imagination.

Or if it is its the same rarity as Powersword. And everyone gets powersword despite how “rare” they are.

I can’t get a 3d rotation of the Commissar with the Powerfist but I assume he has a power pack on his back. The Power Sword variants and Yarrick both did.

And I don’t think it’s dumb. Having a massive 2 handed power field shrouded chain great sword is “dumb” but for some reason that’s not a problem for you. :person_shrugging:

I have already stated I do not like the way it looks. You have already stated you like the way it looks. I am not saying you are wrong about your personal preference, but you are quite clearly saying I am wrong about mine based on that comment.

You like big dumb hulk-hands, I like big dumb swords (and other oversized “traditional” weapons, hence why I like concussion knuckles but not power fists).

They are personals preferences. Leave it at that.

Fair enough. There’s still the fact that Power Fists are well established to be used by non power armored humans. And that the Power Sword we have doesn’t have any power source either.

Which I also disagree with. I want my damn free backpack for having a power sword or thunder hammer equipped damnit!

Pretty sure T Hammer is similar to the Evisc where it doesn’t need an external power source, it is self contained.

Naw the thing they call a thunder hammer in this game is far too small to house the generator. If it isn’t going to have a power pack, it needs to be about 20% larger. Chain-weapons are obviously sorcery, I mean what powers them? There isn’t anywhere for the power source AND motor to be in them. It’s a mystery (not a serious inquiry, there is no real answer, even the diagrams people have made don’t actually explain anything since power swords still need a power pack despite having enough rooms to fit a power source the chainsword uses. The only place logic has in it for me is “make it bigger to account for yadayada big weapon”)

Ah, you know what, actually I think I would only need the power fist to be about 10% smaller for me to like it on further consideration. Still think the chainfist is dumb though, I mean it is just a less effective chainsword AND a less effective power fist.
