Ogryn talent tree needs some final tweaks to round out the weaker areas in range / tank tree as well as balancing for general consistency in tree. Then it may ascend to blueprint for future class trees.



Swap Lynchpin and Furious

Swap Steady Grip and Towering Presence

Lynchpin becomes

Towering Pin: +50% Coherency Toughness regen and radius.
simultaneously, combine all similar class coherency radius & regen talents, in this way.

Reasoning: They are generally the weakest talents and regeneration, combine them make room for new goodies.

Towering Presence becomes

Pepper ā€˜Em: Ranged attacks deal +5% damage and additional +1% for each enemy hit by ranged attack on next ranged attack.

Reasoning: equalize 1st tier talents to damage choices this one favors range tree. 2nd choice then always becomes a toughness generator.

Smash ā€˜Em!: Replenish 15% Toughness on Heavy attacks.

The Best Defense: Replenish 5% Toughness on Light attacks.

Reasoning: better divided on type of attack rather than targets, more control in toughness regen.

Bombs Away: reduce back to 2 boxes, add additional box carry into bigger box of hurt.

Reasoning: it was already good now its screen blindingly good and too often.

New Improved Frag Grenades Talent

Pulling the Pin: While downed, pinned or trapped Ogryn can release frag grenade if unused. Shredding nets, exploding and dealing significant damage to Ogrynā€™s health.

Reasoning: New flavor to un-talented grenade.

Keep Shooting: +15% reload speed, +10% damage resistance while reloading or empty.

Reasoning: DR section of talent tree, giving talent better synergy.

Slam becomes

Slam Nā€™ Spam: 25% impact & suppression bonus, staggering enemies replenishes 5% stamina, 1s cd. and suppressing enemies replenishes 2.5% stamina, 1s cd.

Reasoning: Middle tree should offer reasoning to select from both sides and synergies with ranged stamina talent next door.

Brutish Strength: 4 stacks of brittleness on push, 2 stacks of brittleness on suppressing.

Reasoning: same as above.

Simple Minded becomes

Too Many Extra Rations: Explosion, knockback, pull & throw distance are greatly reduced, trappers now become knocked down and fall towards Ogryn on successful trap.

Reasoning: extra explosive resistance for melee frontliner the closest too barrels and bosses.

Mobile Emplacement: You take 20% reduced damage while braced and reduces braced movement speed penalty by 50%.

Reasoning: Real game changing behavior to ranged ogryn with added mobility and 100% speed on point blank CD use. Range Ogryn biggest weakness is mobility.

Dedicated Practice: Weapon Swap and Ranged Braced speed increased by 25%

Reasoning: Biggest delay in proper range use in braced speed improving both will improve range ogryn as well and clutch shooting.

Reasoning: outbursting! Tank ogryn lacks mobility in ability.

Reasoning: Small tank damage boost. Feel no pain secondary talents are generally unappealing.

Back Off!: Reduce Lucky Bullet proc to 0%, On melee kills gain 1 stack of Rigged Shot, on ability use gain 5 stacks, on 5 stacks next range will proc lucky bullet.

Reasoning: greater control in melee - range swapping slow shooting low ammo guns, lucky bullet procs interfere with consistent rotations but guaranteed proc makes it reliable for double blasting and swapping to melee.

What did i miss? and what tweaks would you do?

Trappers should remain a threat to Ogryn, because they are stronger against Ogryn enemies more than any other class. Itā€™s okay for Ogryn to be weaker on average against shooters and disablers.

I agree about Feel no Pain sub nodes being mid. I believe Strongest is the ā€œmeta pickā€. It helps to keep 10 stacks more consistently for damage reduction. This is what Iā€™ve seen from other players. Pained Outburst and Toughest could be better though.

Brutish Strength is already a very good talent, making it stronger is not needed. But Simple Minded and Unbreakable definitely need another line of text. Something on top of the current effect to make them more appealing. Batter and Crunch are so much better, and they have similar placement on the tree.

Also Ogryn shouldnā€™t get too much movement speed, let Zealot be the speedy boi/girl.

He has a few movement speed talents and a real lack in mobility for taunt ogryn since he lacks the distance closer of charge.

Range ogryn mostly needs speed just to keep up with the group as bracing and firing from rear tends to leave him behind to become easy pickings for specials.

Explosives seem more of a nuisance on the battlefield than useful big boom, fire away, even light em upā€¦ donā€™t see much reason to build a burn build other than enjoying the flames and screen dumps.
