Yes through some. In some cases, that is clearly a bug and i doubt that anyone would argue against this being something that should be fixed.
But proper solid walls are usually not an issue.
They do not fire non stop.
Yes, they can fire for quite a long time, once the start blasting.
But after shooting for a while, they have to stop and reload.
Also, they do not have unlimited perception range and they take a while before they start to shoot in the first place.
I usually kill most gunners, before they even get to shoot.
Because i look ahead and focus them down, when i spot them.
Iāve played this game a lot and Iām genuinely not sure Iāve ever actually seen a gunner reload. Iāve seen them pause or stop because theyāre displacing or their LOS to a player has been broken. Do you know how long it takes for them before they supposedly reload? I know Iāve seen at least scab gunners fire continuously for at least 30 seconds plus, if not longer.
never said perfect, i mentioned sliding to be the viable tool for countering them.
and do take into account, some engagements are worse due to mis-positioning in the first place.
caught in the open (this magistrati courtyard comes to mind) with gunners on both end is bad pacing combined with bad positioning and part of the learning curve in higher settings.
entering a section of a map i try to envision entries of encounters as well as exits for myself.
doesnt work all the time and in the heat of things, but having a portfolio of 3 or more scenarios is better than just relying on physical counter.
just a word of advice, aint pretty in written form, personally i learn the most from gameplay footage.
most likely scenario here, if clusters of 5 got a short delay reacting to the player that often results in what feels endless barrages.
grenades do come handy in such situations
Iāve definitely seen single gunners blaze away for obscene spans of time without pause. Iām guessing thereās variability to if and when they do the reload, or perhaps some janky inconsistencies like with everything else in this game.
I played a regular t5 last evening with a mate; I got whittled to āredā by a bunch of gunners a good 80m away before Iād even realised what was happening. Luckily had my ult ready to go else Iād have been toast.
Thatās not happened to me before in recent memory. I donāt do havoc, so this is a relatively new thing in regular games for me (at least since the last time they made and quickly reverted this kind of gunner change⦠)
Iām actually okay with the effect; I wasnāt really paying that much attention 'til the screen flashed so it serves me right.
That said; hip firing a machine gun at that distance and accuracy is a bit of an oddity donāt you think? Iād get more reaction time to a sniper. And itās also a bit odd when a whole squad of gunners all decide to simultaneously focus me (when other teammates were around). They arenāt that coordinated in other aspects.
tl;dr I donāt mind the result; the method to achieve it is awry
