That being said I find it rather insulting.

A helmet costs 1400 in commodores vestures. we will be able to purchase it after finish the goal for 280 times hooray

Well I seriously don’t care and have not launched any mission with the event

I stopped playing Darktide since 3 weeks or so…

I think I will pass, even for the Aquilas.

I was going to boot up for the first time in months just for the gameplay of the event. But everything I’m seeing make it sound like it’s an ever so slightly worse version of the skulls event from last year. FS done did it again.

It is.

They removed the Aquila rewards from the individual tracks and made it a community goal for some reason. Also it no longer spawns bosses around the ritual sites.

I think I’m just done, man.
Like, you make this amazing event that I would literally pay money to just have be a base game modifier cuz it was that good, mothball/sunset it, then don’t even bring it back out for the same event once a year but instead change it to be worse for no reason (or tell yourself that the small crappy tweaks you made were to “spice it up” cuz noone would want it to be the same, maybe?).

I’m not even talking the aquilas, I mean the actual in mission gameplay. You know, that bit that they clearly don’t understand? It was this perfect little havoc light/auric+ mode that was so fun and unique and they just bin it? They have to be punishing us for our (((toxicity))) or something. No way any benevolent or competent person is running this ship.

I laughed out loud when I saw 5 aquillas as the reward. Nowhere in the game does it say we’re getting 500, except for the launcher, so first I assumed we’re only getting 5 per day or something.

I am not going to play this event.

it’s just the first step so i’m sure it’ll ramp up. but making the first reward step 0.1724% of a cosmetic set (i did the math) is really hilarious, it kind of invalidates the “ramp up” system if the first steps are literally nothing.
it would’ve been way more sensible if it was 150k dockets or something because that at least has a real world use for making/leveling weapons while still being an appropriately low tier reward for a first step

but 5 aquilas? lmao. it’s like trying to get people hooked on a lottery by promising that prizes begin at 1 cent. lol ok? at least it’s kind of soulful that a million dollar company still does funny stuff like this

yeah the old version was far better, i’m not sure why it had to be casualified by replacing the boss spawns with permanent buffs

I would guess they, maybe, actually saw/listened to feedback of people loving the buff from the prayer shrine and, more likely, the rations event and were like, in their infinite wisdom “let’s do that thing again” to this event, but then TOOK THE BOSS/CAPTAIN SPAWNS OUT for some reason.

but if management doesn’t make someone change it to fit their random idea for no reason, how can they justify their paychecks and existence? /s

Time will tell, but…

After 24 hours we finished 10% of the FIRST goal.

These community goals are so strange. They already statistically know whether the community can meet a goal or not before they release it. So ultimately it’s just giveaways with a time delay. Especially since no player looks at that and thinks: “Oh I need to do my part and queue for hours on this mode to help the community goal.” But then on the flip side, if they ever flucked their math up as you’re implying here, then the event would just reflect badly on the studio, because it would imply that their game is dying or their seasonal events got rejected by the community. And players just feel cheated out of a “free” reward.

i’m a bit concerned aswell, i know it’s way to early to tell since we have a weekend comming up but it would be really disheartening if we only ended up clearing the 1st goal in 2 weeks. Maybe skulls should have been available across all missions and only the event marked missions have the totems since i reckon alot of people will bang out the event missions for the personal progression board and then go back to regular missions. Atleast this event is not more challenging or annoying to play and the buffs you get from each totem are straight up nuts.

it would be REALLY REALLY funny if not even the 5 aquilas get reached and fatshark just goes “better luck next time suckers”

the interesting part about the counter is that if you count along with it ingame, it goes up by roughly 100 every second. sometimes it speeds up to 500 per second, sometimes it goes down to 50 per second. this is about the range though

the goal being 5 million at that rate it should, at the absolute slowest, take 5000000/50 = 100000 seconds to complete which is 28 hours

yet after about that much time of that rate happening it’s still at like 20%.

so we can deduce that the actual rate of the bar filling is at least 5x slower than what the live ticker below the bar shows. odd to tamper with this but i can imagine it being a hype thing or something.

i just afkd a bit in the morning star for like 10 mins and logged back in and this happened to the bar

i think they’re artificially speeding it along rn or something. there arent that many more people playing than yesterday

i guess my point is, rest assured it’ll fill up, if not naturally then because it’s tampered? this is why i think these live counter events are a little pointless lol
