Please, at the very least improve the bots, I'm begging you

I often stick to the south american server because this game doesn’t have much in the form of lag compensation besides a mod, which I’m thankful for but sometimes we want to play the game without seeing meshes and stuff like that, needless to say I can’t get anything going on the times I’m often able to play, if you want to force people to play on teams that’s fine, but at the very least make the bots better so the experience is more bearable when we can’t get any teams going. In Vermintide 2 you can tell the bots to pick up tomes and grimoires, you can tell them to drop them, you can tell them to pick up healing if you need them to, you can change their talents and classes, which by the way; they use their abilities during hordes or against specials, and you can change their weaponry and their equivalent of curios. In darktide however, if I try to play anything on heresy or above and I can’t get any players, they just keep dying over and over again and I eventually get screwed over by a disabler, god forbid if I try to get into havoc or anything of the sort at this point.

They just need to release solo mode, like they promised 2+ years ago.

Just let us define our bots like in Vermintide 2 so we don’t get 2-3 generic lvl 1 vets with shitty weapons, no talents, passives or whatsoever.

The stillsuits do not see Solo Mode as something that would bring in the numbers so they don’t concern themselves in instructing FatShark to spend resources on improving the bots and/or giving us a Solo Mode. As long as you’re not the majority, they won’t care for the likes of you, sorry.

I’m hopeful that they’ll copy the Vermintide 2 implementation. That’s the best bot system I’ve ever seen in a game like this. I love being able to distribute the grimoires and tomes in the callouts. I love having them all decked out in cosmetics and endgame gear. Really added a lot to my playtime.

And if they think solo won’t bring in numbers, they underestimate how much I value having my dream team decked out in matching gear.

Because Mortis Trials appealed to the majority… Because FS priorities have never been misguided…

Tired of seeing this train of thought, that solo mode is for a small amount of people. Better bots helps most everyone. When I duo I would love bots that don’t huff nurgle glue.

The campaign filter already increased the quality of players in quickplay, or if you want a more chill experience then it provides it. Again many players benefit.

There is a massive, and growing, audience of players who don’t want other players to ruin their gaming experience. $olo mode provides.

And to be fair, like the campaign, “solo mode” doesn’t have to be anything grand. In fact much less so. Better bots alone would improve viability, along with the actual ability to launch a private match with 1 player. Then you could have an organic community grow around trying to beat the game by yourself.

A solo mode that promises a ‘true single player experience’ feels like a pipe dream at this point and imo not necessary. But relaxing matchmaking restrictions and spending some quality time on bots would satisfy a lot of players and attract a bunch more.

Slight tangent but my tin foil hat is telling me that there aren’t a lot (any?) of devs at FS working on AI. We’ve had little to no enemy behaviour changes or features since launch despite there being some quite advanced pockets of intelligence throughout the game – see the lil gunner cover system.

You’d undoubtedly need some people talented in this area to even start tweaking bot behaviour, even to get them up to the standard of the previous title VT2 (shame that these bots are superior smh). So yeah, if those people aren’t around then chances are pretty slim we’ll get meaningful changes in this department.

It would be super cool though

I think we’ll likely get it after the third bonus class comes out.

Every time Vermintide 2 came out with a new class for a hero, that class was a little strange out the gate because it creates technical debt where there was none before.

They likely just don’t want to waste time on something that will need to be reworked from the ground up in three to six months from its introduction. There’s a good reason that the only bots you get are veterans and it isn’t just for lore.

And lol at the people who reported my last post to try and erase my extremely valid points.
edit: Again? Lmfao. Staff can see who sends in reports, you know? Abusing the system is itself against the rules.
