Playstation CE-34878-0 error in every launch

Issue Type (Required):

Crash - On Launch

Issue Description (Required):

Hello,

The game crashes every time I press “Start Game”, for months now.
I already tried to Uninstall, and reinstall Vermintide 2.

Everytime, I have to delete my local save data to be able to launch the game.

I checked the forum and one of you suggested to check backend data to see if anything is out of place with the account data.

Could you do that for me please ? My PSN is nesupracrepidam

Thank you in advance

Sorry to hear this @nesupracrepidam. From a backend perspective, nothing appears to be out of place.

If you delete your local save data, and then uninstall and reinstall Vermintide 2 as a fresh slate, does the issue persist?

Otherwise, I wonder if there’s an issue with the drive, or perhaps bad local save data could be being restored from PS cloud? If you use that it could be worth checking.

Hello,

thanks for your quick feedback!

i’ll try to do it with the next coming update

Could it be related to my inventory size ? At some point, i stopped to delete red stuff (2 pages of each jewellery for example…). On top of that, i have almost all the cosmetics (skin/frame/illusion/special events/achievement/Franz Lohner’s Emporium…). Is it a known issue ?

If so, i have to take a breath and reconsider my life choice

You are at 1248 inventory items, which is a lot! Though having spoken to our backend developers they don’t believe this would cause the issue here. They also confirmed that no crash reports have been logged on our end for your account, so it seems to be a console error and most likely an issue with the local save data.

thank you!

take care

Quick feedback

I tried to delete local save data, the game and rebuild database from ps5 menu. It keeps crashing

Btw, the error code is wrong, it is ce-108264-1, sorry for the mistake

I have to delete the local save data to start the game from the main menu. There is actually an issue when the game is loading data

So i did some tries :

I played online with an another PSN account on the same PS5 (PSN id : Corment), restarted the game etc. It worked

I know you said my issues shouldn’t be related to my inventory size but the crashes are constant for months and the only « changes » across this period is my stuff getting bigger and bigger

I deleted my local save, started the game in offline, turned off the game, restarted in offline and it worked. Then :right_arrow: main menu :right_arrow: play online :right_arrow: main menu, press « x » to start the game and… crash

Conclusion : i don’t think it is related to my local data or what. Because i don’t know how online progression « synchronize » with local data, my investigation stop here but if it cans help you in the future

Maybe i should delete part of my stuff, at least for the science

@nesupracrepidam thanks for the additional info. I discussed with our backend developers and we did some further digging in your account data again and have now performed an inventory cleanup.

We found that an engineer skin was bugged, and you somehow had 161 instances of it… which is very odd! Now we’ve cleaned things up and your inventory items are correct, your inventory has been reduced by 50%.

Please can you check again and let me know if this has helped with the error?

Thanks for your patience and your feedback :folded_hands:

I will try this evening !

It didn’t work

I went further, i deleted half of my inventory items and i didn’t work too

No need to investigate more guys. If I want to play, I can deal with it by deleting local save data, it’s ok

thank you very much for your help and your tries, appreciate

I’m sorry to hear that :frowning: our backend developer did delve a bit deeper into some of the crash logs we have for your account, but they could only confirm that the error showed the local save data to be the cause. So, something is causing this to continually get corrupted. The only things I could think of I mentioned before, which could be an issue with the drive, or perhaps PS cloud restoring corrupted save data after you delete it.
