There’s a lot more than 30 really bad players in this game that throw matches just being stupid.
I noticed that this issue comes up from time to time, but damn.
I just checked my block list in DRG, VT2 and DT. I have pumped way too many hours in those games and have whole 5 blocked people. 3 blocks from DRG, 2 from VT2 and 0 from Darktide. On average I block 1 dude in around 500h of gaming.
As much as I enjoy nice discussion here on forum, I do not argue with some randoms in random games, it is not worth the hassle. And if game provides me with frustration, be it due to teammates, mechanics or whatever, then I take a break from it or find another lobby. Statistics here is on my side, I might very well never see them again.
Just my two cents.
I’m afraid your two cents aren’t very helpful. I wish they were.
If you can shrug off encounters with toxic players that other people would resort to blocking for, that’s great for you, but not all of us are so stable, or so lucky in our encounters. See there are a variety of reasons to block someone, but they all boil down to “I would enjoy this game more if I never had to play it with this person again.” That can include persons who are not very good at the game, or who are not very good teammates, though I personally prefer to allow for the possibility that such people improve in the future, but it also includes genuine harassment.
Being able to force those type of toxic players out of your experience is invaluable for some people in any game, but it’s especially important in Darktide. Remember that an unfortunate consequence of Warhammer 40,000’s major human faction being purity-obsessed supremacist xenophobic fascists is that Warhammer 40,000 attracts a lot of real life purity-obsessed supremacist xenophobic fascists. I wouldn’t say “the fandom is full of Nazis,” but I think it’s reasonable to say “the fandom contains kind of a lot of Nazis and it can be a bit of a problem.” Like GW had to speak out about this. Toxic people in the W40k fandom can be reeeally toxic.
Blocking people isn’t “arguing” with them, it’s “getting them the hell away from me.” It’s not a hassle at all. Except when you reach the block limit and you have to try and remember who any of these names are and who was the least offensive. That’s pretty annoying. As is realizing that I have to limit blocking to people who actually name themselves after Nazis as opposed to everyone who behaves like kind of a jackhole.
I’m afraid your two cents aren’t very helpful. I wish they were.
True. I read my post today and I am not proposing any concrete solution, I give you that.

I agree with the sentiment in general, life is to short to waste in on stuff that just drives you crazy. If something bothers you, drop it or change it, you are right on that.
My point of view comes from a guy that spent more than two decades on the internet, so you are right, I can filter-out a lot of stuff. Based on experience, I can tell you for sure, Internet is full of all kinds of people that you do not really need in your game / forum / life. Even with a block limit of 10.000, you will reach it one day, if you will scratch-off every person that is not skilled enough for your liking, toxic or just annoying in any way. Internet can surely provide you with a neverending supply of toxicity.
Luckily it is also full of people that are worth getting in contact with. So to propose a workaround solution that worked for me, I can only encourage you to fish-out the people that are on your wavelength. My friends list is slowly but surely growing (I am picky ), I helped some people do challenges, they helped me, I got invite into FL because I played well or I invited some good player over Steam into my FL because we just got along well.
So instead of blocking all of the negative stuff from the internet, which is akin to turning a river with a stick, I rather try to let the good people into the game. This works for me and maybe this approach will help you enjoy the game more.
