I haven’t seen exe sword power against double hp elite… but imho, into a normal legend run, an heavy attack (if hits the head) should kill a SV.
About temp hp, I respect your opinion but I prefer the live version and I don’t find that you can trade hit fighting hordes… mainly with not-melee careers.
Just wanted to point to this (Documenting the dynamics of swords) (and related website & ext. links) it’s interesting and in my opinion would help a lot to understand/find the best weapons balance. It is just one of the many resources we can find. @Fatshark_Hedge what is the source on which FS sw engineers started to develop the weapons related mechanics?
Please do not be close to going live. The game is far too easy now and progressively so in each beta patch.
Hard-core players are the core of your long term audience and need to be kept challenged in ways that do not involve stupid self nerfing. Either increase the difficulty, add mutators, or add a new difficulty.
It’s a good idea as long as the input is a tap rather than a button hold. This is because alt fire is often mapped to extra mouse buttons and holding them might feel awkward. (To clarify, I’m not suggesting bashes become any faster)
Thinking about the whole of the beta going live; I think stagger needs to be tuned down a bit. It’s gotten so high that almost every weapon can control Maulers and many can control even Chaos Warriors. It’s a bit much, IMO. I feel like the temp health decay rate is good, we can get a lot of temp health again . . . might be a bit too high. But dodging is more consistent. This leads to the game being more about staying healthy over the long term - which is good. But the control we have is . . . kind of absurd. I wouldn’t nerf it across the board, necessarily, but reduce it on light/one-handed weapons a bit. One-handed axe works fine without that much control; same for one-handed swords. I think they’d all be in a good place without the crazy good stagger.
So you’re going for the pendulum to balance those weapons now?
Might be a good approach, indeed.
I think You went about 80% too far on all of them, but it’s a good start.
Funnily enough, the BoP are still horrible against bosses, and I still don’t know why they ever were. Isn’t it essentially a burst weapon?
Anyone elses game crash on quitting to desktop every time?
Also the floaty hits and getting caught by trash skaven that is 6 yards away and gets full damage as if he was an elite or the constant animationless triple or quadruple hits that come from the middle of a pack aimed at a character BEHIND other characters is that just me or is it worse than ever? Getting hit before an animation even plays out cant be parried by skill only by rng. Also ive been hit with full stamina shields and parry up by a standard mob as if my block wasnt there…multiple times. And im talking games with reasonable ping or even hosted myself. Lowering the FOV didnt do jack for me and reduces my viewport to a size im not comfortable with.
I sometimes get hit 0.5 seconds after the backstab sound plays or even completely without any sounds.
I think I did not see any skating enemies.
Either I am currently really unlucky, inattentive or it is something with the game but it feels like there are far more stray enemies suddenly behind me than before. Just like if they teleported there or glitched somehow through objects to get there.
Even with my back to a wall I sometimes get hits from behind and I simply have no idea how something could have slipped past me.
I’ve had a lot of phantom swings with 1h axe the last couple of days, but not totally blatant like it has been. I think the cross-hair was probably off target but I would have expected some kind of contact nonetheless.
Kinda diagree I think its balanced well if you go trigger happy with it your out of ammo fast and you cant claim every ammo bag since you have team mates it now 2 shots sv where before it 3 shotted them not that big a deal, Its nice actually having a ranged weapon for salty besides the cross bow
Want to talk about op Krubers bow is also a super fast and powerful weapon that can stun lock chaos warriors and maulers easily and sv pats are a joke to it also hagbane which can hold back a horde without having to engage in melee
