PC Hotfix 6.3.4 - Easy Anti-Cheat update + Hotfix 6.3.5

Heroes!

We’ve just pushed a patch that swaps our old version of Easy Anti-Cheat for the newest version. The previous version is scheduled to shut down on March 4, which would’ve meant no protection to the game from cheats or tampering unless we did this upgrade.

A couple of things to note about this change:

  • For normal gameplay, there should be no notable difference. The game will continue to run normally in both Official and Modded realms, and no extra actions need to be taken from you as players to continue playing.
  • Operating Systems that had incompatibility issues with our EAC may find those issues gone with this update. We still can only officially dedicate support to Windows 10 & 11, but nonetheless there might be one barrier less in that aspect.
  • The system necessary to support Sanctioned Mods is changing. This means that until sanctioned mods are updated by their authors, they might not work in the official realm.
    • We are currently in communication with mod authors to find the swiftest solution to this issue for all sanctioned mods.
    • Sanctioned Mods are now fixed as of Patch 6.4.0 without needing to update the original mods!
  • Connecting to other lobbies might take longer than usual at first. Will go back to normal after some time.
  • Versus Quickplay will be temporarily disabled as we update the servers.

We’re working to fix the issues with Sanctioned Mods and Versus Quickplay Dedicated Servers as soon as possible, we’ll keep you updated.

I’m on linux, and after I installed this update whenever I try to go into the game it says some of my game files are corrupted. And I have an unknown file version bundle/e614db3690dddba3. It then asks me to verify integrity of the game, I do this and it says it’s all good but going back into the game says it again-again.

We just pushed a hotfix that fixes some issues with updating/reinstalling the game, I’d suggest trying to re-install Vermintide and see if that works. If that still doesn’t work, you can try heading to our tech support subforum here: Technical Support - Fatshark Forums
And asking for help from our support staff.

Unfortunately, as we do not officially support Linux, the assistance we will be able to give will be limited, but it’s worth a shot in case our usual steps do fix it for you.

I’ve had reliable results on Linux today so far. This is how I’ve done it:

  1. Uninstall Vermintide 2
  2. Delete the 552500 folder in compatdata (prefix folder)
  3. Reinstall Vermintide 2
  4. Opt into the bypass launcher beta
  5. Set beta launch option to Dx12
  6. Make sure you launch using the beta by going through the Steam interface (or do 7, and launch from desktop)
  7. (Optional) Open the desktop shortcut in a text editor to change “rungameid” to “launch”, and add “/dialog” to the end of the same line

1 & 3 may have been unnecessary, 2 really doesn’t hurt if you’re having issues. 4, 5 & 6/7 are critical. I get the corruption issue if I don’t use that, but it’s then fine when re-enabling the beta without a full reinstall.

Well done FatShark, please don’t break it again.

While I wished the devs would do more to support Linux, this is already the right direction they are heading in. Thank you devs, I know a lot of people don’t like the updates for vermintide 2, but this one is a huge one for the Linux community. :+1:t6:
