Patch #11

This is great (improving cleave damage and cleave targets would also greatly benefit the ogryn’s power maul as well as the zealot’s eviscerator, just to name two examples).
This buff allows the heavy attacks to apply bleeds to more targets when running the Blood & Thunder feat, which can greatly improve the shield’s horde clear.

Problem is, heavy attacks stagger small enemies so much that they fly away and are out of melee range after taking a single hit.
This makes it pretty much impossible to stack up bleeds on trashmobs and hordes in order to deal proper bleed damage.

It would be nice if the stagger of shield heavy attacks was reduced against infested and unarmored enemies, so that they only get knocked over after being hit by 2 heavy attacks in a row.
This should allow the ogryn to hit the same group of enemies 2 times (before knocking them out of range), applying bleeds twice and thereby dealing more damage to them (and killing some of them while they are lying on the floor after being knocked over by the second attack).

So is the game worth playing now for newcomers?

progression is still f’ed so no

I would’ve stopped playing this game several months ago if it wasn’t for that mod. Though, I stopped playing it last month anyways bc the crafting system bs, that mod kept me around longer than I otherwise would have.

Just forward this chart to the devs.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more succinct and efficient list of concerns/todo list which accurately reflects the primary concerns of the community at large.

Part of the problem of wanting the game to be better balanced so it actually doesn’t have massive outliers that trivialize the highest difficulty while severely impacting weapon variety?

I’m perfectly fine with being part of that problem.

These Revolver buffs are great, it’s a useful weapon on Damnation now and is a lot more fun to use.

Also do we know when the next community comm-link is going to be? I feel we’re still sorely lacking in communication and a comm-link is still better than nothing.

Get rid of the “hold your ground” half of it. Darktide is only fun or interesting when something is pressuring us to move, especially when we have to move through density to achieve it.

The upper levels of the smelter end event are also underused. I’d like to see something where after destroying the corruptors, we have to wade through intense spawns to reach a couple terminals that we need to interact with to get the smelter working again, and once it’s done, the door opens and we can leave.

lilbro do you think the heavy stubbers has 10 total ammo?

played for awhile and no new mode showed up for damnation, really?!?

so I played it on heresy to see what it was like and it was EASY AS BREAKFAST literally, I hope it’s harder on damnation but it was a total joke on heresey

If you buy the game, you’ll probably “get your moneys worth” even if you just play and level up one character (maybe 30ish hours). That assumes you won’t get bored of running missions on the same five maps over and over and that you’re willing to challenge yourself playing on higher difficulties. If those assumptions are off, then you probably won’t feel that satisfied based purely on content.

After leveling up a character, you’ll find yourself inside of a vast casino disguised as a progression and crafting system. But make no mistake, it is a casino.

If you enjoy the core combat gameplay and experience, and are willing to turn a blind eye to the terrible progression system, crappy mission selection process, and mind-bogglingly absent quality of life feature (the latter of which can be mitigated with mods) then you’ll be just like many of us still lurking here: slamming your head into the wall over and over because you’ve convinced yourself it feels good.

So with that: WELCOME TO CLUB!!

Absolutely not. Barren wasteland of zero content … and balance changes that are some of the worst of any game I’ve played. Thats saying something because I play overwatch and I didn’t think it was even POSSIBLE for anyone to be as inept as those Devs. I stand corrected.

depends what new guy is expecting, if 40h of fun then for sure. if expectations are about long haul, then move along

To be fair, your own comment sounds a bit like a tantrum.
Your complaint about steam players sounds like confirmation bias.

Also:

What point are you trying to make?
The game is out on steam and on the microsoft store.
The update enabled crossplay between steam and microsoft store users.
The guy complains about now having to play with steam users.
This complaint is invalid, because the requested option already exists:

You guys are both feeding the troll.

Don’t do that. Next thing you know they’ll want a glass of milk and we know where that goes.

It’s dishes. Nobody likes to do dishes. Well, maybe some weirdos.

Nobody likes it, but someday you’ll wake up and notice you are happy when there is new sponge on the sink. That’s a sign you’re getting old…

No broken locks.
No fixes for merge strike teams.
No map selection.
No bots using people’s alt char loadouts.

FS is bad and should feel bad.

I don’t think this is particularly well thought through having played a bit now with this nerf in effect.

No twin stubber user is going to use 50 bullets without letting go of fire. No t5 teammates are going to thank them for blazing through that much ammo on, I assume, a horde.

And AFAIK most people burst fire it. Didn’t spot an overhang if there was one, but if not it needs say 2.5s adding so you can build stacks in bursts.

I’m also thinking that flamer zealots are now incentivized to burn through a full load (again) where the last changes curbed that nicely.

Also, have you guys maybe considered non linear stacking? So that you quickly get to lvl1, 2 and then progressively slower in to 3,4,5 stacks? Like a log curve?
