One sure way to improve public relations.

Hi! It’s fair to say Fatshark is being dragged through the mud these last couple of months and the reality is I don’t blame the players for rebelling when the game is designed around predatory efforts to get the most profit out of a clearly unfinished game. This is of course sad because while Darktide has many issues that I know will be addressed in time, the Honeymoon period is already over and whatever goodwill Fatshark had initially has practically dried up, largely thanks to its strange zero communication policy over what was its sink or swim period. Thus the road ahead will be rough.

Yes, they’re slowly working on this but it isn’t enough. Steam remains a hostile environment and until real effort is made to win back support, a hotfix here and there won’t help. Other games that land themselves in similar waters tend to resolve this by offering free ingame store items or its premium currency to show it’s not all about greed. Not only would this promote players to check out the ever resented ‘Commodore’s Vestures’ store but it’s one way to continue bringing out new content for it that the devs have alluded is already here to be introduced. However, this is probably the worst decision they could have made since it ironically tells the playerbase they are restricting what would have been a steady flow of new cosmetics because they don’t want to settle on losing any profit they may make from them in the short term while public relations are currently VERY mediocre.

What? You mean to tell me there’s no one in management that hasn’t thought about giving the players free cosmetics or free aquilas to purchase them? Better yet, what’s stopping the devs from releasing some new cosmetics in the Armoury Exchange instead? Not only would this promote goodwill but also promote players to return and play additional hours to earn the coins needed to acquire items ONLY THROUGH GAMEPLAY. It’s a slam dunk that I’m honestly surprised hasn’t been implemented yet but I guess it must really be all about greed? Prove me wrong, Fatshark.

Seriously, I hope you do. I love this game but I can’t stand its predatory efforts. You know it’s kinda sad when a true predatory game like RAID: SHADOW LEGENDS has better public relations because they offer free stuff over something as simple as their servers going offline for a couple of hours.

If they cared at all about their PR and their steam rating, they would have given us something while they redesign the crafting system for at least the third time (they scrapped it once already last summer).
Instead we’ve been given 2 random shops, random consecration, and 1 (one) perk reroll and the other one gets locked, for literal months, and cherry-on-top, all of that for an absurd amount of crafting materials, meaning an insane amount of game time just to consecrate one weapon to max.

Maybe they do care, but that just makes them clueless.

Agreed. Again, it amazes me how daft the devs are when a game like RAID SHADOW LEGENDS has better public relations when they’re quick to offer compensation in some shape or form for something as simple as server instability. Not that I’m pining for it personally but as someone who wants this game to succeed I’m currently forced to tell my friends to stay away till things get better.

… even if it takes a year, my negative review on steam will remain so others aren’t disappointed.
