Ogyrn, The Shield, and Ranged Dynamics

Something I’m coming to notice on higher difficulties is that Ogyrn’s Shield & Maul is borderline mandatory for the class to function on higher difficulties.

Ranged enemies are too lethal and in too high a quantity to reliably run other weapons. Because the Ogyrn basically has half the cover available that other classes have, and is less mobile on top of that - being able to block ranged attacks is absolutely invaluable because his increased health accounts for very little.

If blocking ranged weapons is something that is going to be exclusive to the shield, then I think Ogyrn should passively resist ranged fire a bit more. The innate 20% damage resist just isn’t enough.

Or if Fatshark would be willing to sacrifice thematic logic for gamefeel, perhaps just letting the Ogyrn block ranged fire no matter what weapon he has would also be a great solution.
