What is the current bully club meta?
And do shovels still hold their own?
It’s been a while since I changed from either pickaxe or Cleaver so fancied a change. Wonder what the really meaty stuff is though.

clubs are pretty much m1 spam with conf strike with skullcrusher mk3b is kinda the best
shovels are ok but you’ll get sick of the folding ones quick because you kinda have to fold it for anything mauler or larger the standard shovel however is very good brutal+thrust on it is really nice.
also mk5 bugs out visually sometimes idk if the other folding one bugs out i never really used it

Bully Club Mk 3b (with skullcrusher and probably brittleness) stands far above everything else (except pickaxes). Its attack speed is so much better than the other clubs, maybe even than any other weapon, it’s insane. Just spamming Lights works on almost everything. It’s easily the best for stacking bleed with Batter and Heavy Hitter.
Use Heavies against Ragers to control them better. To speed things up against Carapace, spam lights until Light 3 (overhead), follow it up with a Heavy to get another overhead. Push attack strings also work well on Carapace.

as mentioned above bully 3 skullcrusher/confident strike and whacking away with light attacks.
and that’s exactly the reason I wont use it except for maybe a C I VI once every blue moon.
gotten used to the combo possibilities with the krourk IV, club indeed feels like caveman mode dulling the senses.

Well, this is what I think is the best (in terms of melee)… I know they vary from build to build, but this is a general outline, IMO. I feel it’s one of the cheesiest Ogryn builds so far. CS if you struggle with toughness, though, so instead CS + SC or Thunderous. I feel that you don’t need Hardknocks, because the extra Rending nodes, plus the Brittleness blessings, really wrecks everything from armor to bosses & more. No need to waste tax nodes for just an extra 15% DMG, not worth it. In Havoc with enemies inflated health pools, so the extra rending & brittleness helps after some testing between having the perfect balance for armor & non-armor types. Great Cleaver, I found is better to get through everything instead of Impact, you get enough Impact with Slam for everything. In terms of Melee, this might be the strongest I’ve tested. Obviously, the Rumbler spam builds with BLO is better damage overall for the real cheese, but this is still very solid. Another side note is that Carapace on the club 100%, because I’ve seen people with flak & that is okay, but we all know Maulers have Carapace heads as well as Crushers, but that’s personal preference of course. Another obvious tip is always hit the head with everything light-spam-wise, that’s when your True Strike talent comes alive too for that extra punch. You could also go with Bullrush too, just personal preference as well. I just find Shout more helpful in Havoc’s myself. All-in-all, this is what really dominated games for me with killing power.

This one is the Rumble spam version, which is probably the cheesiest Ogryn build in the game with the Club too. I haven’t used it in awhile, but I was easily getting anywhere from 2-3 almost 4mill DMG a match. It’s a bit too much, honestly. This is what I’d consider the Ogryn Meta overall in terms of the sheer amount of damage output. It’s just as cheesy as Psykers flame staff build on that level just about.

Branx pick is the best weapon ever. Bull butcher 3 is getting bizzarely slept on if I see cleavers at all. With this new double single target combo off push attack coming back to H1 I don’t see any reason to use Mk4 anymore. Its light combo is way less useful for hordes and for whatever reason the cleave profile is worse on L3 than any of bull butcher’s lights. That thing hits 5 targets with very little cleave fall off from one target to the next.
Other than that yeah ogryn (kit) is still so small and not a lot of variety. I would run the shovel Mk3 with skullcrusher and BM if you’re going to use it at all otherwise it’s just a terrible version of a pick. After all access to those 2 blessings is literally the only thing the pickaxe would want for by comparison (and skullcrusher pickaxe is totally busted when other teammates are providing that bonus, you can kill an 8 stack mauler in one light attack with Branx). Slab shield is an insanely good weapon but the fact that it has BM means none of its moves besides H1 will ever be useful ever so its boring.

Yeah, I’d put Branx right up there too if you have the skill for it. Just light spam to me is still superior. Shield, I never see people use this anymore, which is sad actually. It’s my favorite Ogryn weapon & is still incredible with H1 cancel if used correctly.

I like Skullcrusher more than Thrust (which is still good) because the shovel is nicely spammy so I feel you get more use out of it.
I also like to run the +impact stacks down the tree rather than cleave because of BM. Easy to stagger ragers n’ things that way.
The spade does feel a little pathetic in hordes without BM though.

Shield has always been my favorite from the start. I just feel so safe with it. I have to admit that obviously light spam bully/rumbler is the current meta. It is what it is. Still have a soft spot for the cleaver’s too, they get slept on a lot shockingly from my playtime with others.

As the name would suggest, extended use of this build will result in rapid braincell deterioration, use at your own risk.

I do like the branx but my oggy play style is something closer to a giant zealot lol. I love dodging and sliding and being as nimble as possible and Branx unfortunately slows me down too much. Also it doesn’t hold up too well in very dense hordes imo. Having to switch between heavy and light constantly for horde clearing is a pain.
Same. It’s been my build for a while which is why I’m wanting to try the club or shovel again.
I usually use it with thrust and the one that fully charged attacks ignore enemy hitmass. Charging heavies with a cleaver is quite quick so it feels good.

I’ve never gotten on with the shield admittedly. It’s too cumbersome for my dodging and sliding ninja oggy preference lol. I also hate not being able to see the whole screen. I have my FOV set to like 110 or something anyway and the shield eats into that significantly.

I find Branx push attack safer in dense hordes (and combos well). For me light → heavy / vice versa is my bread and butter so I can’t relate. Also the new massive dodge tech goes hard for covering the windup windows.
But I know you like the Karsolas, which is ok, a bit small, but ok 
Do you like the pointy Cleaver? I’ve been enjoying big zealot style with the stabby blade!

I feel that this is another Ogryn weapon slept on too. Not sure if you use any mods, but there is one to make it transparent if that’s an issue for you. Plus, the shield can take out 5 bruisers in one shot with Brutal Momentum. Also, one bonus thing is that the stagger is so insane, you can take out a pack of like 10-15 ragers to stagger them by yourself without taking almost any damage. It’s pretty wild. I feel it’s one of the safest Ogryn weapons, as well as the club. Besides that, you can slide with it to get to where you need. With the no stopping me node, it takes away all the heavy hitter attack movement speed too, if that’s an issue as well. It just takes awhile to get accustomed to, is all. At first I didn’t like it, but it grew on me after awhile.

I use the Karsolas because I prefer its Special Attack over that of the Branx. The Borovian’s Moveset is also just really weird to me. Some people are weird enough to somehow enjoy Vanguard → Strikedown Heavy Movesets. I don’t get it, but all the power to them.

Same here, of all 3 picks, I like pulling the karsolas through a crowd like a scythe, and its come here + double whack special.
