Objective Markers Obscuring the Action

This is a persistent problem from all the tide games, Markers need to stop obscuring objects.

Too opaque, too close to the target, is layered over more important objects I’d rather see.

Look at that. That’s a Reaper. They’re big goshdarn mf’n dudes. There head is the size of a whole zombie and not exactly hard to hit, but I ain’t gonna. Not in game. My box is going to miss because they’re moving, they’re shooting, and I can’t see anything from the legs up besides the marker.

Here’s a regular dude

Where’s he at?

18 m away, still can’t see his head. I can guess, because I’m in the Meatgrinder and not actively being shot at, nor dodging or moving. At least I’m an Ogryn main and that’s a sniper. Sure would be troublesome if I were playing Veteran Sharpshooter with a Headhunter Autogun, Revolver, or a Kantrael MG Ia with tight breakpoints and blessings that trigger on weakpoint hits.

By the way, these are normal distances to fight these guys at. It’s a very big game.

The red highlight is enough, the skull is completely unnecessary and, troublingly enough, shared with a social wheel marker. Sure feels silly when someone drops one in game and everyone immediately turns to shoot at the marker assuming there’s an elite or special there. If this has to be there, layer it behind objects. I want to see the bad guys, not a big red skull. The distance counter could actually just be there above the marked target/objective alone without a symbol and be fine.

C’mon, y’all can make this customizable to accommodate other players. You can make the floating symbol and distance togglable, adjustable transparency, and have the colors be adjustable in the menu, too. I want to change it to green myself so highlights stop disappearing behind fire affects. Let us have some comfy adjustable HUD stuff.
