scott mcneil is the only guardsmen voice for me. rip DoW winter assault.
I have to clarify because I clearly expressed myself badly.
I don’t mean that the lore justifies this. I meant that being unnamed sidecharacters we lack the personality of VT2’s characters.
I meant that being generic, they just develop skins that more or less go on both sexes without much detail.
I think that armor being essentially unisex is fine and thematically justified.
I think that cloth-based skins should probably have a little more respect for the model they’re supposedly going on, however.
Reminds me of The Secret World (although not quite so egregious). Male and female character model and animations built on the same skeleton, with the result that neither looked quite right.
Now I understand and, from this point of view, I agree with you: perhaps, with named protagonists like the Übersreik Five, the issue would not have arisen.
However, this does not justify the shortcoming I have already pointed out. There are literally hundreds of video games in which the player character is entirely customizable and therefore each armour/outfit has two versions: one male and a one female.
An example above all: Fallout 3.
Frankly, I find it strange that such a simple and trivial feature is de facto absent in a video game like Darktide, where some of the armours/clothes are sold for real currency.
“Those are Eldar…? I thought they’d be taller…”
I wish we had access to an Earthshaker, I would be yelling “Shatter their sky!” every time I fired it.
Hi, everyone.
It’s not my intention to bump this discussion – I just noticed my incorrect formatting when mentioning Catfish and I can no longer edit the original post.
Here it is: @FatsharkCatfish
Yeah, HUGE missed opportunity to include this memorable line of dialogue with the Psyker, along with “I will split your thoughts open!” and “My mind bears a great pain!”
Bump for an issue I care about.
