No, seriously, where are the rest of the buffs?

Not being snarky, not a counter thread to the other balance discussions, not a containment thread.

Why are we still having to ask for buffs to weapons that have been problems since launch? It shouldn’t take this long.

That’s not even an exhaustive list, a few have never been acceptable, niche, or good. Fatshark, come on.

Infantry Lasguns used to be genuinely good on Launch, unless you’re counting the Kantrael Laspistol (seeing as you said “Kantrael Lasguns”) which has always been inferior to the Accatran Laspistol. At the moment, Accatran is THRASHING Kantrael in their little Las Weapons Race.

It is objectively worse, but it feels way better, has cooler visuals and sounds, and still performs very very well overall. So hope FS leaves my baby as it is.

FS felt the need to change the names of Infantry Lasguns and Headhunter Autos.

Scuse my hyperbole, i was just looking at the Nerf Plasma thread and just saw someone doing the same “No how bout buff this instead” and had that Jojo final battle moment of seeing every second of myself across time reading that same comment forever and ever because FS refuses to admit the Helbore is bad.

Oh, I’m not taking a specific “buff this, nerf that” stance on Laspistols. I’m just pointing out that Kantrael’s selection of Las Weapons seems to be coincidentally inferior in outright performance when compared to that of Accatran.

Infantry Lasguns, though? They struggle HARD to keep up with Recon Lasguns, meanwhile Recon Lasguns are pretty insane when it comes to DoT from Infernus. Balancing the two of those out would be a step on the right path to fixing the egregious Enemy/Player Balancing issues that Darktide’s faced for almost TWO YEARS at this point.

Yah I tried making build around helbore with mod for easy firing. best I got was no moving +ads blessing for auto crit to body shot most enemies… something plasma does easier baseline without requiring marksman.

All the snipers require marksman just to be decent and still fail to compete.

Not to mention non vet classes, only appeal is to be super efficient against shooters and some specials.

They need some love more range finesse modifiers

I’ve nothing against laspistols. If you’re running and sliding and getting headshots you’re probably doing something right.

In every way. Just lower the TTK I need versus softer priority targets, man.

Helbore… boy the urge to rant is strong.

Helbores are bad all the way to their model.

Fatshark, please stop making us use an accessory rail to aim with. People have fallen to Chaos for less affronts.

And beyond that, the class exclusive weapon should probably have more than one synergy with the build options available. It can’t be this difficult.

The thing I dislike the most with the one handed chainswords is the movesets, they feel like random flailing I hate it.

Your list is way too short. Almost the entire (human) weapon pool needs a balance pass.

And it’s seriously time to nerf Carapace because it makes too many weapons unviable on very high difficulties. Havoc 40 with a Braced Autogun and Catachan Sword? Yeah, good luck with that.

Have these weapons really never been good though? I remember they used to be a decent choice back then.

Like XII Lasgun was one of the best weapon in the game for Veteran at launch.

Carapace Enemies are being spammed to a disgusting degree in order to match the ludicrous levels of anti-Carapace utility that we have access to on certain OP Weapons, such as the Duelling Sword. There’s some give and take needed to make it the way that it should be. I remember when Catachan Sword and Infantry Lasgun was considered to be a great combo.

Twin-linked stubbers are pretty bad aswell

Achlys combat axe needs another horizontal attack that chains from heavy 1

I think ironhelm could use better stamina management, i dont get my block broken on any other weapon as much, you need to push to get to H3 for ironhelm and you need to PA to manage hoards with the slower heavies also carapace and maniac damages are a bit low on heavies and lights respectively

Just let me go back to the days of clicking on heads with a volley fire Kantrael 12 and playing an actual sharpshooter archetype. Used to be one of my favourite setups way back. Just feels so ass now…

Been trying this recently with an all out deadshot-ghost-crit-stamina build and the lasgun formerly known as the XII.

It’s auric maelstrom viable but a bit of a glass cannon.

They don’t feel like a sword. More like a plastic toy. I wouldn’t mind them being slower, but harder hitting.

I general I wish all activated weapons got the relic blade treatment.
