No New Faction after 3 years?

Probably more sensible to expand Admonition with the ‘Accursed Cultists’ & ‘Dark Commune’ ranges.

We could definitely use some enemy psykers.

Their absence is a bit confusing. Like daemons, they are so obvious and would add so much in terms of gameplay that the fact they are NOT here seems quite deliberate.

While not explicitly stated, some of Morrow’s vox chatter about needing more men seems to be talking about more conventional operations. If guardsmen can’t be drawn from regular regiments to make up for occasional shortfalls in warband’s numbers without causing notable issues, or if there are regular shortfalls in the warband’s numbers would imply that at best the margins for troop numbers are much tighter than they should be if the Imperium were truly on track to a certain victory.

I would agree that outside a few notable failings the Imperials mostly have the situation under control but I would not say that they are winning as that would imply that war is going better for the Imperials than it seems (See the latest class being added being justified in the lore by Rannick having failed to bring the war to a close in a timely manner). If the Imperials were truly winning, it would strongly support introducing a new enemy faction to escalate the threat and stretch Imperial forces even thinner, making a prolonged war more believable thus allowing the game to continue to advance the story.

It is not just the 6th and former hive gangers we are fighting, elements of the 21st are known to have fallen to chaos (Something that is likely to happen to 33rd and 53rd in the near future if it has not already happen), large sections of citizens of Tertium have been turned into Groaners and Poxwalkers, and there are nobles and former militia within the ranks of Admonition, also the so there are far fewer Imperial guardsmen currently fighting on Atoma when saying 2/3 regiments would suggest.

Biggest narrative hints have been GSC..

It would be nice if someone was infected on the ship. The easiest way to introduce a new faction IMO is a space hulk suddenly appearing near atoma. But FS already blew their load on Mortis Trials, which to be fair is a “dream land” so they could have any faction in that space.. Im not just onboard with Mortis trials in general.. hopefully it continues to evolve instead of just being lore dumps for youtubers.

That’s where it lies for me too. I rather have more faction specific elites, or new specials.

6th moebian and, underhive scam(aka dregs, aka hive gangers) in the lines of admonition cult

Another thing that’s important to note is that we’re ONLY seeing what’s happening across specific Zones of Hive Tertium. There’s so much more to Atoma Prime than what WE see, such as the other Hive City. The Inquisition doesn’t like us talking about that place. Given the naming of Tertium (“Tertiary”?) there could be a third Hive City and possibly even more.

We don’t know anything truly concrete about who or what leads the Cult of Admonition beyond there being a trio of higher-ups known as “The Three”. Whether or not Captain Wolfer is REALLY the Moebian 6th’s leader is still up in the air. What happened to Colonel Gortun, or the Majors between him and Captain Wolfer? Captains lead Companies, not Regiments.

We haven’t the slightest idea of how critical this situation really is, at least not yet.

If you look at the giant globe in the embassy (big circular room in the hourglass) there’s quite a few hive cities shown on it. I forget the number but it was something like 5. It could be old, of course, but I suspect that there’s a bunch of other cities scattered around and the “2nd hive city” they keep mentioning is probably just whatever one is nearest. I remember they mention train lines that connect it to Tertium directly.

As for Tertium’s name, keep in mind the city as it currently is was very likely two different hive cities that grew into each other at some point. Hence the twin spires. Tertium may have been the more dominant of the two cities and they just dropped the other’s name, or they may have considered the other two cities to be the “first” and “second” (whatever their names were, not necessarily something like Primus and Secundus, etc.) and simply named the city born from their fusion to be the “third”.

Also:

Took five years for the weave cosmetics to be available outside Weaves.

Showed the early possibility of a deterministic itemisation system but trapped it to be weaves-only.

C’mon now!

We just got a new shiny, sword that i’ll never use again once i have maxed it out.

That’s something, no?

well there is constant talk and nods to aeldari coming into play eventually, its confirmed by vox comm talk and its also confirmed in brahms lore talk in mortis trials that there is aeldari ship stalking mourninstar but don’t want to attack even though they could obliterate us they’re just watching us it all points out to the fact that they want to make contact, its tiny but important bit of lore, so could aeldari be new faction? maybe? maybe they somehow form alliance with mourninstar and we can even have them as playable class or maybe its dark aeldari and they turn out to be new enemy factions either way im 100% sure space elves will play some kinda lore in the game eventually, devs basically said so with mortis trials dialogue.

lore is very important

You mean like female space marines?

I want Orks to arrive in the area.

Does Atoma have any moons? Perhaps that would be a good excuse for totally different biome.

of course it has moon you can see it on night maps as well as from mourningstar also i agree orks constantly conduct various WAAGHS across planets so a random orkish WAAAGH being set on atoma to fight both nurgle and us is plausable altough i still think aeldari will come to play first given whats said in mortis trials.

Damn I’d love to fight Eldar in a game like this. They are so, so, so under-repped in videogames. Then again everything is compared to boring ol’ chaos. But Eldar especially.

Not sure how that would work with hordes tbh though. Orks are absolutely the best fit for the enemy types in DT.

Good news RE the moon…after almost 2k hours I can’t say I have ever noticed…but I’ve not been looking either. If it/any of them is a jungle planet then I will pee my pants.

Options galore!

from what i know game has always teased genestealers, they are an good horde enemy too. dont need to put them together with nurgle cultists like in VT the beastmen/skaven and chaos fighting together, can just be a separate enemy faction.

but i have no expectations or hopes with DT, it always takes so long for an update to come out and then its just barely anything at all. before last update the game even dropped down to just like 2k players and is again on course to be there in next 1-2 weeks and is already hard to find matches even on EU on some times, game could have been so much more but FS just does nothing with it at all

i think genestealer or other chaos cultists….maybe drukhari, they got some cool models in 40k inquisitor martyr, could maybe be some less horde intense enemy but stronger individual ones but lorewise i think we should be able to easily handle them they seem like the weakest faction in the setting just able to raid undefended planets but get beaten by anyone everywhere the second they meet resistance and then they flee lol kind of an joke faction for all that high tech stuff they apparently have

I have lost all hopes, update after update.

A new faction with new behaviors is the only thing that would make me reinstall, but I think they will never deliver.

It’s obvious that they don’t love their game as much as VT2, and their most talented employees must be fully assigned to their new IP.

In the product life cycle, DT has already reached maturity.
