I remember seeing a lot first impressions and people didn’t even know what to do, clearing it out, going downstairs, collecting the things. The tensest that fort gets is when half your team is dead and you have to enter the fort alone and rescue them by yourself, the actual objectives feel sluggish, and I dread running up the stairs to the Valkyrie after a sluggish time. Something about that fort just bores me and I think it’s the objectives since I’m someone that enjoys the combat in darktide very much.
It needs a legendary boss fight.
An Anti-Zealot with two phases.
A boss that absolutely brutalizes players he’s focused on and requires teammates to attack him from behind.
Phase 1:
Give him Shroudfield that he can use to close the distance. He’s aggressive and will appear to launch a volley of fire from his flamethrower. He’ll have a sound cue, followed by the sound of his flamethrower spooling up before he appears. He’s got Carapace chest, arms, legs and head with a flak weakspot in the rear. Very tanky.
Phase 2:
He puts away his flamethrower at 50%HP and flies into a fit of rage. He pulls out his Heavy Sword and uses Rinda Karnak’s fighting style, complete with dash attacks. Players can use Taunt to draw aggro and barrels to momentarily stagger.
Upon being defeated, he pulls out an amped up frag nade and kamikazes himself. Any nearby players immediately die.
