Probably developers have already thought about it a lot already. In vermintide 2 there are the red tier weapons, we could’ve almost the same here in 40k but better like the Archeotech-weapons. Thought about it playing another 40k correlated videogame were thunder hammers actually use electricity and it’s spectacular.
Those archeotech weapons would be very customizable based on what players wants to play.
For example, 5 different archeotech weapons for thunder-hammers can be “overcharged” chosing different type of abilities like:
1)One with chain-lighting chance on hit while charged that can hit like 7 enemies around for moderate damage.
2)One can be making enemies exploding once they die making a percentage of their maxhealth as small aoe damage.
3)One can be smashing on the ground making everybody in a circular area getting stunned and slightly damaged and if you hit an armoured enemy (instead of the ground) it gets heavly damaged and everybody around get only stunned for a moment.
4)One can be smashing on the ground makes a conical area (like 3 meters long) ignoring obstacles in front of him stunning and damaging, if instead hits an armoured enemy it only makes damage and stun on him.
5) And the last one can be overcharged to gain attack speed, movement speed and more armor penetration with heavy attacks.
There can be even venomous weapons in adding to bleeding and burning effects.
Every weapon can have their own Archeotech version to make them more powerful i only used thunderhammer for example.
And there are many weapons we didn’t see yet like inferno pistols, braziers, grav-guns, sniper rifle, stormshields, power axes, etcetc…
I know these are more “Important” weapons than our rejects deserves but we’re in time of needing…
It would, if people didn’t take offense to things such as fun or experimental builds.
But you’re right. The way things are going and Blessings are re-adjusted if they just have the tiniest bit of performance, they’d never let such a system stand.
Unfamiliar with mouse tide red weapons but would like to see red weapons be powerful unique weapons rather than just be another consecration tier. Preferably have it linked to crafting and finding the parts for these uniques in the field with a chance to lose the parts and technology if you wipe.
Overlock system would be pretty great and really give the end game some legs.
Assail was a problem because it was so overpowered that the other players were just walking through the game in lower difficulties. In pve games like Darktide and deep rock, perfect balance isn’t critical as long as the weapons are fun to use, and one weapon isn’t the best in 99% of situations becoming a must use. You can’t balance the flame thrower to the revolver or shotgun, they are different. Even the three shotguns are different from one another. Most people solo matchmake into groups, not every build is viable with randoms. Some people are going to care, and others just look at it as part of the game.
A couple of the posters are mentioning that bugs and balancing are an issue, but this is essentially saying that fat shark can’t add features because they will never be able to fix or balance them within reason. If that’s their rep then I guess that’s their rep.
