New kind of cosmetics idea

I thought I’ll share my idea, most people with lots of hours of gameplay probably already have everything the Commissary has to offer (the items are quite boring to be honest, as they are just variations of the same sets), and some people don’t want to spend their money on Commodore’s Vestures.

SO, I had the idea of adding a new kind of currency to the game, which you would acquire by a specific gameplay style or certain achievements (a bit like penances, but not quite so).

Let’s say we have a Veteran who has a REALLY good headshot rate, or an Ogryn who always is checking on the “lil’ uns” and keeping the team alive, THOSE are the kind of things that would grant you currency, and the cosmetics should reflect the trait from which they were acquired.

Something like a UNIQUE cybernetic eye for the Veteran, or blood spattered outfit on the Ogryn.

I’m talking about a “middle path” between the Commissary and Commodore’s Vestures, cosmetics that would actually tell the teammates MORE about the specific player’s playstyle/skill level ON THE FIRST GLANCE than a title, frame or the cosmetics acquired by doing penances would (those are kind of lame too).

They should be better and more diverse than the Commissary/Penance items, but still leaving a demand for people who want the easy, paid “premium” cosmetics.

That would give the seasoned players something to aim for (instead of just a grind for dockets or penance points), and to showcase their achievements and playstyle.

Everyone would like to flex about being the “bestest rock thrower”, this way they could do it with a unique touch and give them something CONCRETE to work towards, right?

I think this would bring a lot more depth and flair to the game, and make it more easy to see who is good at what, and how to act during missions according to that.

Sounds like a melk rework. Objectives that aren’t useless and offer cosmetics instead of useless weapons.

What I would like them to do is to add MUCH more color options for every item, that’s probably the easiest thing to do really. But don’t present them as separate items, instead for each item there should be a dialog box listing all possible colors that you have unlocked for that item. And make those colors to cost some money, and fine may be even charge you for each recoloring event to burn some of those funds all long-term players have stockpiled.

Because currently it’s painfully hard to make a look you really like, cause even if you find appropriate combination of items that look good together, there is no guarantee at all they are available in color options that feat together, or look appealing to your eye.

Another thing they could do is to separate body armor in Chest Armor and Gloves slots, and legs armor into Legs Armor and Boots - would hugely increase the wiggle room for creativity too. And if they could separate head gear in two slots, like Helmet and Face Mask or something, that would be incredible. Here I mean that all current gear will be just split in parts, so if you have bought some full-face mask already, you keep it, but now you can wear its helmet and face mask parts separately, and you can wear face mask from one set with helmet from a different set.

I don’t think Fatshark is going to like “free cosmetics” ideas.

I like the idea but this is the penance system. I would like if they kept adding penances and rewards. Yes, a seasonal penance system.
