Agree, in a co-op, teambased shooter it would make sense. I think being able to re-pick up ammo crates and have the player refil the crate would make the most sense, to me.
I am finding it rare we get the “ammo greedy” player, 9/10 they are ignorant and will eventually learn.
Another solution could be to install ammo crates similar to SM2, Instead of the RNG crates at crucial intervals. Something like this could mess up the econmy of using your ammo effieciently but as a comparison L4D didnt drip feed players ammo, which is whats creating the rabid “need ammo” in some players. L4D just has big piles of ammo to refill 100% at checkpoints.
And you could switch weapons throughout the mission, as well as SM2 you could adjust you entire loadout in the mission as well. I doubt something like that would be implemented but if we are talking about bending/changing ammo consumption these are all ideas that work fine in other horde shooters.
I think FS could benefit the community by revealing the acutal numbers of whats “left behind”. Granted the players who dont care will continue to not care but the data would be nice to see whats actually going on.
Usually that’s what I see…
You spam ping the crate, the guy comes he takes it and waste it immediately
They don’t even check if you need ammos…
I have a theory, but let’s warn that it may label them as particularly stupid.
I think they believe that the crate will slow their move… I don’t see any other reasoning behind such stupid behavior.
I have also seen the same with medikits…
The situation is not what happen the most, but you can encounter such players very often.
I don’t even like carrying the ammo crate anymore. I always reverse pickpocket it onto someone in the airlock. Cba being nagged by the “suppressing fire” player.
Same. There’s always the one dumping ammo into hordes and being the only one out, spamming “I need ammo”
I used to hold onto it and tell them to use their other weapon, but I just can’t be arsed anymore. I only play low ammo use builds now. Veteran weapon master with revolver or melee Ogryn with kickback.
