\\\ New elite havoc mode for top players ///

So lets say Fatshark does actually make a whole new game mode for the elitist of the elite top 1% of the top 1% of players… how would they make it harder?

Genuinely how would Fatshark make the mode harder than havoc? Would they increase the spawn amounts even more? No, because last time I checked there have been audio issues with silent specials when too many things are all spawning at once, and that even happens in auric.

Ok so they wouldn’t be able to spawn any MORE enemies, so maybe they could just 10x all the current enemies health amounts and that would do it? Crushers currently have 9,750 hp in havoc 40, so just add an extra 0 to that and make it 97,500 hp and that would make the new mode hard right?

Alright and now that crushers have nearly 100k health, what about bosses? They’re too easy in Auric and i guess havoc now too, so how do we make the bosses harder? Well lets increase the amount that can be spawned at once, lets have 12 bosses at once instead of the current limit of 6?(i think). Oh and their hp can’t forget that, better add an extra 0 or two to compensate for how easy the game is, so a Havoc 40 Plague Ogryn has 102,000 hp, so make that 1,020,000? that sounds good to me.

All half jokes aside, instead of complaining about the game being too easy and asking the devs to make yet another havoc gamemode, why don’t you take a step back and ask YOURSELF, ‘why is the game so easy’. Are you using all the most OP weapons, talents and abilities? are you in a premade 4 man group all doing that same thing? wow no wonder the game gets easier with coordinated teammates all using the strongest weapons and abilites available. Is that the reason the game is so easy for you? and if so, try not doing that.

Believe it or not you can actually make the game harder yourself without ANY input from the devs at all, its incredible. What you do is make a new character, and you don’t assign any curios or talent points and use the unupgraded gray weapons, the game instantly gets 10x harder i guarantee it

“just don’t play with your friends” isn’t really a good response

neither is asking for a new harder gamemode

‘but guys you dont understand darktide needs 15 gamemodes each being harder than the last’

the game can be hard if you want, and the game can be easy if you want, but people will always complain no matter what

edit: because I was flagged..

Let’s rephrase it..
Next time you want to change something please provide a detailed suggestion of how we could actually do this so the community can build on it or at least find the points they agree/disagree.

Otherwise it sounds like an empty protest:

  • “We don’t like the current system! Change it!”
  • “Ok.. any suggestions on how exactly this could work?”
  • “Make it Different!”
  • “Different, how?”
  • “Just CHANGE ITTTTTTT!!!”

This is hilarious.

H40 was supposed to be near impossible, only for the most elite.

Then players asked for balancing against H40 instead of Damnation and look at where we are.

What makes you think this ride in the merry go round will end up somewhere different?

If you can consistently clear H40 at will, any weapons, any numbers, well one you’re insane, two, go play something else, congrats, you beat the game! There’s nothing further to do!

The following options are available, the main thing is to find a balance.

  1. Increase the number of units (if possible)
  2. Reduce the number of respawn points
  3. Add a boss wave.
  4. Increase or decrease the bosses’ health. (Let’s say there’s a wave of 10 bosses, but with reduced health, and if there’s only one, then with increased health.)
  5. Add debuffs from specialists (Let’s say a marksman shoots a player, and if he hits, the player can’t ult or run for 30 seconds, or is stunned,or go backward when you should go forward or forward when you should go back)
  6. Add an elite boss with minimal health that kills in one unblocked hit.
Perhaps the community has more ideas.

what would be needed right now is a total burning down of havoc as a mode, at the same time nerf all outliers at once no exceptions, no mommies skirt talents for no one.

then make ONE mode above auric maelstrom that forces players to break, contort and bleed their fingers to the bone if they want to make it through by physical skill, aim and game knowledge alone.

new enemy types to shake up encounters, weakspot damage that has to be earned while hitting spot on.

add some patterns of attack variants to each original enemy and bosses that enforces dodge, block parry etc to get damage in while not eating dirt yourself.

let crushers shove their huge hammers forward to knock groups apart, let let bulwarks bullrush into groups and shield yield them around.

make gunner groups bound together with higher caliber variants and form a stationary gunners nest that needs flanking from several sides at once…

theres options to challenge players physically

and then theres rainbow enemies against blue/yellow buffs

make a choice

realistic way to make havoc at least more interesting is just adding more penances for it with more rewards and grind new more levels til 160 for example where difficulty scales even more

but real way to make havoc more interesting is removing rank demotion, adding quickplay for it, and removing the crap rotation map/modifiers system and let at least modifiers and map spawn randomly without using any pool.

if fatshark was good, they would made also new brand unique maps for havoc maybe too
since expedition has an unique map, mortis trial has unique maps but havoc not even a slight difference.

I still want to see a video where he clears a H40 with a stub autopistol and catachan sword with randoms (so not being carried by friends).

Nerfs for weapons and talents that need it… and balance seriously the game

It won’t make the game harder and will not provide variety

You’re telling us that making the player weaker won’t make the game harder? I’m not sure if you’re trolling, have an alien concept of difficulty, or both.

Of course, it depends on how strong the nerf is. But I don’t think your changes to the weapon will weaken players much.

Obviously trolling

He says it won’t make harder and it won’t provide variety
Look at his propositions and tell me the one that will provide variety… at contrary if you balance the game because, obviously, then you can use more weapons.
So, I suppose when he says it won’t make harder this is also trolling.

I still wait for a video of a H40 run with stub autopistol + catachan sword and not being carried

Of course, it depends on how strong the nerf is. But I don’t think your changes to the weapon will weaken players much.

Here is no trolling at all

So, there’s layers to this. There’s weapon/talent performance, enemy balance (quantity, damage dealt, damage taken, etc), and player skill.

The devs can’t do anything about player skill. There’s currently a handful of weapons/talents that are significantly overperforming (and a handful that are significantly underperforming), and due to negative reactions from players toward nerfs the devs have overtuned the enemy balance to compensate for the inflated player power.

Simply nerfing the overtuned weapons/talents/blessings and buffing the undertuned weapons/talents/blessings would result in damage sponge enemies and a frustrating experience. So they need to re-tune the enemy balance as well. Your suggestion is: “sweep all that under the carpet and overtune enemy balance even more.” Which strays further from a balanced and challenging experience at high difficulties. Especially because, as has been ppinted out by many in this thread, the new “H100” will be the new benchmark that average players will want to clear easily, they’ll cry about nerfs, player power will creep up, and then in a year or two you (or someone else) will be asking for a new game mode/difficulty to make the game harder than “H100”.

If you don’t fix the core balance problems, then the “wound” will continue to fester no matter how many band-aids you slap onto it.

How about nerfing player power that has spiked into the stratosphere back down to earth?

If you can’t delete entire screens of enemies with a few button presses anymore then Havoc becomes a challenge again.

There should be no team comp or weapon that guarantees a 100% winrate on Havoc 40. Even 10-20% is too much. The fact that people run H40 speaks volumes about how OP we’ve gotten.

Just by nerfing 5 things most players would crumble in H40

  • Duelling Sword (remove uncanny from it + no stagger unless parry)
  • Gold Toughness (no longer blocks spillover damage)
  • Inferno Staff (slower soulblaze generation)
  • Melee Scum (Rampage, Hyper-Violence and Shivs)
  • Kraks (base amount and generation talents)

These are not even half of the things that need nerfing, but again these alone would already make Havoc considerably harder for many which should be ideal
