So now that we are balancing around havoc so casual players can enjoy it as well, the gamemode ends up being on the easier side, contradicting the very reason it was created for.
Playing arbi on H40 almost feels like auric, while auric itself is a ghost town, because one good player will turn the run into a complete snoozefest. It’s like having multiple release sisters on your team thanks to no character lock.
Bottom line, the game is boring easy, again. Let havoc be havoc, stop making it easier for the masses.
no but once that new difficulty becomes boring to you you are going to whine again so that begs the question, when is it gonna be enough? how many diffulties you need?
if you need the game to be harder than havoc 40 why dont you play havoc 40 while someone kicks you in the nuts at random
People despised the previous version of Havoc, so I doubt you’ll get your wish. FS also always winds up power creeping the cast. When VT2 launched legend was hard, now Cata is easy. Part of it is player skill and knowlege improving, part of it is power creep.
That said, its a battle you aren’t going to win. Sorry m8
idk. CM doesn’t tell us anything… but it’s probably still a while away. At the very least, not until the next major update.
That said, it feels like they’re prioritizing an overall balance adjustment for Havoc rather than focusing on Auric.
Other than ranged enemies instantly gunning you down due to the fire rate buffs, which was cheesable by the bubble and constantly sliding on your arse, old Havoc was easier. Not sure what this is about.
Thats a matter of opinion. I’ve heard people say old havoc was harder and people say new havoc is harder. Either way, OP isn’t going to get his wish anytime soon I don’t think.
I get the OP’s sentiment, Havoc was created as content which could provide a challenge for even the most cracked Darktide players. This isn’t elitism.
Fatshark isnt doing it the wrong way tho. Instead of nerfing the broken weapons, talents, and blessings, their changes have simply ruined the base game difficulties, for anyone who played the game for quite a while, and not everyone enjoys the Havoc bullsh…tery, and its modifiers remove some variety when it comes to weapons and builds.
It was created in the worst way possible by making it a gearcheck. Somehow breezing through old Havoc with the meta builds was fine, but having more options now means that the evil casual masses have ruined the cHaLlEnGe. That’s hypocrisy and elitism.
there are too many fundamental design issues to really create anything that feels like Darktide difficult for the most cracked players, while also keeping it remotely enjoyable. There are too many stackable buffs and debuffs, allowing you to keep most threats staggered or contained. Or just completely ignorable.
There are always going to be people who find the avalible content too easy.
I would say majority of the Havoc levels are more than approachable for an average player who doesn’t run the game on a potato and actually plays the game often enough. As much I take issue with some of the Havoc difficulty modifiers, it’s good there is space for that 1% to fail a run. That’s how game remains relevant for those guys.
What should have probably had happened first is a wave of nerfs to a range weapons and classes before Havoc 2.0 was introduced.
You would think, at least from the way forums depict things. I can however almost promise thats not the case. I imagine a majority of the players aren’t even doing Auric.
As @adam.szitas said: Havoc is the type of content that removes content from the game. Couldn’t be said better.
This is also true, if all four players were comfortable in Auric before the Havoc dropped, they will breeze through the Havoc with the right builds. Hence why it is a gear check. I’ve beaten Havoc 40 with randoms, two of which haven’t even played above 30: one guy asked if we would like to try 40 if he hosts, and we did it in the first try.
Really wish some people stopped pretending like they are “special” for playing this terribly balanced game mode.
Everyone is missing the /s here. Also, what’s with the instant personal instults, feeling that insecure?
I am not advocating for even more power creep. Ogryn rework and arbi have clearly been done with havoc in mind, to make it more accessible to the casual / console playerbase, watering it down to a point where I can drag 3 randoms through H40 who clearly don’t belong there with rumbler / nuncio spam. It also makes a mockery of all the difficulty levels coming before, as NOTHING offers ANY challenge outside of havoc. I would prefer to be able to just QP when I have less time, and still have some fun.
And since there will be no nerfing of the new shiny toys, we might as well up the difficulty instead, creating a neverending balance nightmare impossible to solve. (/S)
If you are still finding auric challenging and fun, good on you, but also, disregard this thread please, you won’t be able to contribute meaningfully to.
Which is a bit problematic, as it invalidated any difficulty left in the base game modes, don’t you think? Lets stuff buffing everything to the level of Duelling Sword or Inferno staff insanity, and maybe the game difficulty balances itself just a bit.
