The devs would feel pressure to make the premium weapons give an advantage so people buy them. Also they’d feel pressure to create 10 marks of every weapon so they always have stuff to sell. Even if they relaxed lore restrictions they would run out of unique 40k weapons in about six months.

as strategy? i’d hope they would make them balanced

but it’s more to find a way to support fatshark for more content, rather than spending on skins where many people may not like them, especially when they don’t meet certain standards, for example lot of graphical issues, like clipping etc. or just recolor skins

i think having the monetization towards digital currency for buying skins, it is something that not all people may feel to do, but i guess it’s the most reliable thing to do for a live service game

I expect changes for the PS5 release.

I really hope for a weapon customization feature and a better shop. Maybe I am too optimistic, but several little tips push me to think that.
At first there is this sentence in the Havoc announcement.

Then there is this image with a helbore that shows things (light module and also the sight) that are not on the game model. This is enough to believe in a weapon customization feature.

And for the shop… there is the FatsharkStrawHat message. If there was no chance that things evolve, we would had no word from Fatshark.

So I have high hopes that things will go better. I hope that I won’t be disappointed.

I ended up purchasing the bolt pistol, power maul, and the purgatus staff skins, since I liked the way the bones were placed. I then rounded out by buying the white skull hood for the zealot.

I love wearing bones/skulls, so Fatshark will be the reason I go bankrupt.

strawhat, you need to understand that the community doesn’t feel like we’re being listened to, it feels like we’re taking a back seat to a cash shop that hasn’t seen any meaningful update since the game launched.

Strawhat unfortunately is in the position where they may be relaying stuff, but who know how it’s handled. There are 7 different people with credited Marketing/Public Relations leadership roles for this title, and not a single one of them interacts with the user community on any platform, while the two credited Community Managers are no longer around for that role. The entire apparatus that normally is supposed to do that sort of thing is just…MIA, and the the length of time it takes to address or even get acknowledgement of certain issues screams volumes about FS’s internal workings.

How to put this as politely as possible- If it takes more effort to purchase the skins than it took to open the default weapon mesh, click desaturate and mess with lightness levels, then please explain to me (Fatshark) why I should pay any money much less an insane amount like that?
