I’m fine with new classes, if they fall into some semblance of balance and are fun. I mean, I want other content like maps, but new classes are another way to experience something new in this game and that’s what I want.
I can’t class them in an order, but to me the key things the game needs are Classes, Maps, Weapons, Enemies, and possibly Items - like pick-ups. Honestly, more potential pick-ups seems an obvious place to go.
They’re gonna milk this until DLC classes stop being profitable.
Other than cosmetics (and weapons, but they haven’t done it here yet) it is the only thing that they really can sell, maps and enemies were bound to the host in VT2, no host here, and also promised alongside modes to remain free…
I’d probably go:
- Enemy (Faction)
- Class
- Enemy (for Scab/Dreg)
- Mode
- Mission (New area)
- Weapons (New or Marks)
- Mission (Present area)

Siiiiiiiigh I was hoping for at least an end soon. Maybe the Fatshark Comms Curse will befall them and make it so they never make another class since they said Skit wouldn’t be the end, though.
They need to finish the current campaign story so they can expand into a new faction IMO.
Wolfer and the Admonition is a none factor and have been for a very long time.

Let’s be real, that’s because we’ve been mass-slaughtering his troops for about 2 years before we got even a hint of story with him, and because he’s never been able to have an actual success on the battlefield or beat out the strike team on something.

They have some cutscenes with him where he’s trying to aura farm, but he never does anything and isn’t even set up as real baddie.
We already whipped his so called lietunants oncd.
The reason I want them to finish the campaign is that it’s bad, not bad in the sense that the story is bad, but it relies fully on “tell-don’t-show” and that is always a really bad way of writing a story if you want people to get invested.
Finish the Admonition and Wolfer and move on to something better.
Release a new plague virus that kills all o the fully human rejects and the Ogryn and reset Darktide to be Mechanicus versus Necrons! ![]()

Are you thinking we wipe the Dregs and move to another planet and another tide ?
Cause that’s not gonna happen, this isn’t the game/scope explained.
I was thinking that we beat them and something else take their place.
Do it like Vermintide 2’s end point and my favorite map (Skittergate).
Make something similar with Darktide so we get rid of Wolfer and the cult for once which are both fairly boring and dragged out at this point, esp gameplay wise since we never see any of their exploits, and move on to something cooler.
And for the next campaign, finish it from the get go. Make a couple of missions (5-10) with somewhat of a narrative (Vermintide 2 style) and end it.
I’d pay for an expac like that.
Except Skittergate didn’t change the factions we faced ?
Sure, but it was the end for me at least.
We go through the maps fighting the Skaven.
Find out some stuf. Fight lietunants and then we finally end up at the Skittergate where we fight the big bad, and then we run as the whole place collapses and destroys the portal.
THE END
What we have in Darktide is an okayish plot that has went nowhere for years while introducing too many NPC’s on and outside of the Mourningstar that doesn’t really fill any point in existing in the story.
Love the game for the gameplay, but narratively it’s a big step backwards from it’s predecessor.
At least for me.
There WILL be more classes, but also more enemies, with the next one coming with update I believe so be ready.
Gotcha, thanks guys. Was hoping this would be it for classes but guess it’ll be cool to see what they come up with. I’m just not a fan of having to pay extra for one class. I do like the Arbites though. Just wish they’d get some new weapons like a heavy stubber variant or even be able to use las weapons.
Speaking of weapons, be cool to see maybe more Plasma variants and even Volkite lasers.
All I hope for with the Arbites is for an eventual actual ranged weapon/build like the Veteran with preferably a Laspistol so you can mainly plink from AFAR and pretend that you are an detective.
That’s the one thing that makes me not play Arbites because I personally feel that being in melee 24/7 is a bit repetitive and would like more of a split.
