If only Fatshark was willing to reign in our “kill-everything” buttons, we could have a game where you interact with more enemies than just crushers & specials
None of the bosses are a threat solo, I think introducing him here was weird but I know they needed some draw for the new mode (could have made some NEW WEAPONS that we could unlock for an extremely low like 10k tech remnants, but no). In a vacuum the boss can’t be hosered by stealth and debuffs dodge insanely for 10s, heeling on the player and outrunning basically everything but desperado scum with pistol-level speed. For some reason in wastes you fight them solo and his dogs take forever to come back (dunno if its a mod thing but when you generate a pack master with creature spawner he replaces his dogs every 20s after the last one died). Though definitely chain stagger resist should be in, that should apply to chaos spawn as well. Them not getting an attack off at all because they ran into the team with spammed knockbacks is really cheesy.
He’s a problem when coupled with a horde, or when you are the last man standing and need to rescue the team. Its near impossible to untie anyone while he’s alive because you can’t cloak.
I agree he doesn’t inspire any sort of threat otherwise, but he does shine in those instances.
Fatshark needs to set up a beta server before releasing patches so that they can receive feedback from ALL players.
The small number of playtesters is clearly not enough for the task, or Fatshark simply ignores them.
For karks sake, I still play City of Heroes on the Homecoming server (a private server recently greenlit by NCSOFT), and they, a small dev team of volunteers who make no money other than donations, have open beta servers before patches go live so that EVERYONE can test out the new power sets, content, and so on, and give feedback/report bugs, before they launch it on the live server.
How difficult can it be?
But noooo, we need to get Twitch streamers access!
Streamers that do not actually play the game (just look at the people streaming before the updates, they are not actual Darktide players, but cosplayers and such that use the partnership to plug their own stuff to the watchers) in a capacity to give feedback.
I think it’s a cool boss idea, IMO. But yeah, his attacks against players need to be buffed a bit, the intimidating look doesn’t suit his DPS output. Every time we’ve went up against him, he literally does next to no damage when you fight, also I rarely see his Carapace Dogs that’s supposed to jump you alongside the fight. Health seems okay, but man, he hits like a pool noodle. Also, a big mistake having Packmaster exclusive to just Expeditions.
Weird wording by putting ‘initially & exclusively’ in the same sentence, but that’s what it says on the site. Unless Fatshark said elsewhere it will be in other modes in due time. I must’ve missed this.
Yeah, I’m not very into the whole cryptic thing. They should be more straight forward with this type of information, but that’s Fatshark, I guess. But regardless, he needs some buffs 100%.
