Zealot knives should have the option to manually aim each throw, this would be a lot more intuitive because it would behave exactly like how all other grenade-type objects work. In this mode pressing the blitz button will cause you to draw your knives and from there clicking LMB will quick throw, or you could hold down LMB for an aimed throw with the arc indicator. This would also make it easier to throw multiple knives in succession for targets that require several hits.
An option for the original method where the blitz button can only quickthrow should be retained because some players might prefer that.
No. Just no. Being able to quickly throw the knife not wasting time to swap weapons is huge for this ability. One example i can bring is sniping the special that is just out of range while you have your melee out and dealing with the horde.
While I wouldn’t want it as an on/off option in an options menu, having press-and-hold to aim would be handy; if only just to inform me that the groaner in front of me is within the knife’s hitbox. Press-and-release to throw instantly could remain unchanged
Give an option to toggle it then for those that want to.
On controller (I play on console sometimes) you can’t rebind the keys and it’s down on the Dpad… you can’t use them properly. On PC being able to rebind the key to M4 or something it’s fine and works great though. But anyone on controller it’s nearly impossible and super unintuitive.
This is only needed so I could take a look at these things. They’re the only blitz action you can’t inspect.
Throwing them fast is the appeal, just wait for the special to launch its attack and bam. You can even use it on dogs for style points. When their new AI makes them stall before pouncing I’l just throw a knife at its head. They just need to let me restock knives from pox burster shoves and make the finesse modifier flat 1.8x for the 4 ‘not unyielding or carapace’ target types.
As I suspected the community is split on which control scheme they would prefer. The ideal solution then would be to have the option for both manual aim and single-press quickfire, as well as port the same quickfire feature back to grenades and rocks since those could benefit from it as well.
