Throwing knives are awkward to use with a gamepad

I just wanted to put out there how I feel about the new throwing knives in the zealot’s skill tree, which I think are very cool, but being someone who plays with a controller, they feel very awkward to use. I have to stop my movement to swap to my d-pad to throw the knife while trying to stay on target with the right stick, and the main remedy to this at the moment is to move my index finger from the left bumper and trigger to try and move around in a reduced capacity.

I’m sure the quick throw works out very well on a keyboard and mouse setup and I don’t think that should be taken away, so what I would propose instead is to have the option to hold the blitz button for a short time while you have the throwing knife blitz selected in the skill tree, which would have you pull them out like any other grenade, and allowing you to throw them with the right trigger, and maybe even letting you hold the trigger so you can throw it on release and possibly have a throw trajectory like the grenades get.

Personally, this feels like the solution that wouldn’t interfere with people who are already using throwing knives as intended and are enjoying them, while also adding functionality that would greatly improve the experience for gamepad users. I hope that you’ll consider this addition or a similar solution to improve the experience for players who would very much appreciate the love. Otherwise, keep up the great work!

I play with M+K and find the qiuckthrow mechanic weird as well… Like u said… Let us switch to the knives like switching to an nade… Aiming and throwing the knives with LB (Mouse) and RT (controller) would much “handier” this way… But maybe its just a skill issue #inb4

Hope this is a priority, having to choose between movement and being able to use knives was a huge design blunder.

I can say it’s awkward even on a keyboard & mouse.

Would be better if the knife throw was something like a special attack for some weapons instead of blitz skill.

I have them on scroll wheel button and going after weakpoints, as you should is tricky, unless up close.
