Necromancer Skeletons shouldn't have guttural monster growls. They're too easy to mistake for enemies. Give them rattley skeleton clinks instead! (video example provided)

  1. No way in heck will you mistake that for any rat goat or chaos marauders.

  2. The hollow clean clink of bones rattling is a very pleasant sound. But most importantly, highly recognizable.

This really should have been one of Sienna’s lines when ordering an attack command.

“They’ve got a bone to pick with you!”

The packmaster has very similar clicking sounds.

Oh dang forgot.

Gotta be some other bony sound I guess

@Zoli I was thinking the same.

@GreenColoured I would like it to be changed too. They sound like monsters, instead of skelletons. I think same sound, but more “high-pitched” sound.

Give them no sound at all, just when they are summoned with the special ability they make ghostly shrieks and otherwiese only the sound of their weapons when they attack enemies. This would be ideal.

@TangledUpInBluegrass <-----

They do feel a bit… ratty.

I don’t see why they can’t make those sounds. They are infused with the Winds of Magic, which can cause all sorts of howling, growling and whispers of the damned.

With that being said, it would be fun if Sienna poked fun at this aspect and told the skelles to shut up, much like she does the U5.

It’s more of gameplay functionality as it’s easy to mistake them for enemies with their voice

@kqgee About the “shut up”.

It would be fun.

I recognize the issue of rattling sounds perhaps being too close to the packmaster, but I must say that I have experienced the same problem of mistaking skeletons for enemies, repeatedly.

I really do think that they should go the necron route of being deathly silent, except perhaps for the sound of their footsteps and - of course - the din of combat when attacking. This isn’t just for thematic reasons, but also from a gameplay sound design perspective, since there is really no reason for audio cues as to the position of skeletons around us, since they never constitute threats.

Total Warhammer did it right

Nehekara Skeletons are completely different beasts than a necromancer’s. Nehekarans still have a soul and they’re far more advanced than the empty programmed puppets Sienna and Sophia can summon

My favorite faction !

Vampire Count skeletons are like that yes, but Sienna and Sophia are ostensibly not vampires.

They’re both explicitly NECROMANCERS, not Lichen Priests.

Their arts are derived directly from either a vampire count or another Necromancer. Not to mention just look at Sienna’s talents, some of them are literally Vampire spells.

They need to be more transparent for other players too tbh.

This I’d prefer if it was a toggle option as I prefer the cool actually solid and there skeletons over Sophia’s lame ghost boners.
