In Vermintide 1 we had Ranald’s bones. In Vermintide 2 we had Ranald’s gift. Some loved the systems, some hated the systems. I propose that a new luck game could be added in the post mission reward screen.
The game could be the game of cards that we see in one of the Darktide trailers and the one cutscene where you visit the bar. (Fun fact, you can see that very card game happening in the background of the cutscene!) Once you finish the mission, it totals your exp, your gold reward, and reveals a hand of cards face down. Each difficulty tier adds another card, starting with one on the lowest and ending at five on the highest. Completing secondary objectives adds a card, and special modifiers would as well. The “Emperor’s gift” system could be replaced with granting you an extra card if you’re lucky. The cards all flip, revealing your hand. The higher your cards add up to, the better your reward!
This would make it so no matter what, you get a reward at the end of the run. Even a white has the potential to be useful if its base stats are good. Secondary objectives would be much more worth doing, and you’d get a little extra dopamine seeing all of your efforts added up and rewarded with each card. What do y’all think?
