After 12 day of Grim Protocol release, i finally managed to reach Havoc 40. I started with auric maelstorm and reached instantly Havoc 16, from there to rank 21 was easy i not really lost a single match. From 21 thats when the mode became suprisingly hard, gunners and shooters instantkill ppl, enemies tougher stronger, but the real challenge is to adapt to the new difficulty, needed new tactics, only the best builds to use, and this is what the most players (even the experienced ones) cant do fast enough. Thats why between 21-35 those games were horrible, i struggled because of players, i nearly always was the last one to die, i will be honest from there i never hosted a game, to not to lose rank because of others, struggled for days to reach level 32, i got accepted to only 2-3 level higher games than my rank. After i reached 32 i got lucky and got accepted to rank 37 match, what we won, from there i started to play good matches, because players good as me appeared, im not lying havoc is hard, but with rank 35-40 players are more managable, and those games are incredible. So if you are a good player, and can manage somehow to reach 35+ in ranks havoc became incredible.
Yeah the havoc games around 20-25 are the hardest imo, even compared to 35-40, all due to teammate and condition RNG.
The toughness nerf condition with corruption goo condition, coupled with low skill players is literally the ultimate challenge.
I’m sure I have suffered the most losses around the 20 havoc grade.
I got my true survivor badge at the same time as my level 40 badge! Which shows my point quite well I think
If we could inspect people’s builds before they get into our party that’d make things a lot better, but still not perfect. It’s so annoying when you invite a high-level player thinking they’ll be competent, but they just turn out to be a smite psyker for example.
Yeah, I feel this hard core. Haven’t been doing much with Havoc yet due to life along with not having the grandest amount of free time and wanting to actually enjoy myself, but been trying to climb the ranks now that I got a bit more free time for the holidays.
But holy heck, It’s been a battle trying to get up there. I’ve gotten the 30 so far, dragging said smite Psyker kicking and screaming through a 29 and then a 30 an Ogryn was hosting before we disbanded.
Then swapped to my Zealot to try and do some higher level stuff, only for it to just be absolute hell trying to get into a match. I’ve been able to do 1 39 to my name, and got cheated out of the win by a barrel sending half the team off the cliff and procing a nearby deamon host 3 levels down right as a beast of nurgle spawned. We where sailing through the mission with no issue before that, and now it’s been impossible for me to even get 1 team to pull me in.
I get the reasoning, but heck, I can’t play at 30 until the end of the week cause I didn’t play ‘my assignment’ (which is Clandestim Gloriana, because of course it is), but I won’t ever be allowed into higher rank games because I haven’t been ‘given the chance’ to perform and win one yet.
A fantastically horse sh!t catch 22 that I thought I’d only have to deal with while job hunting, but nope, now Fatshark thought it best to make it a reality in game to! : D I’d very much like to play the highest level of content with the rest of the ‘big bois’ please (or at least play a couple of games up there before going for the armor set by helping people), but nope, gotta fight for the privilege I guess…
Would be cool if you could ‘quick play’ havoc for no penalty/no chance to demote, just select one of the ‘havoc ranges’ in party finder and go into it (be it your assignment or someone elses). Maybe gate it so you can only select a level up to your current assignment, but it would just be nice to actually feel like ‘jumping’ isn’t the only way you can get to the top.
(I complain then finally get let into a havoc 40, most hectic fun time of my life, we one, AND it was on Gloriana to boot. Hecken, wahoooo).
I did the true survivor on havoc 40 yesterday with elektrokinetik+smite psyker. Never played smite psyker before, never tought the build is that good.
This is the base game all over again?
We might look back on it and laugh now, but Tier 4 Heresy is truly the hardest skill-level to get past in the game.
The step up from Malice is the biggest level-to-level difficulty increase. Suddenly old builds or certain weapons don’t work as you have to start dealing with things that hurt; and in larger numbers. And in addition it’s not a level where the better players generally dwell, so there are far fewer people there to give others a hand up.
I suspect a lot of players then skip this level to go in to T5s because it’s easier to win in (as better players DO play there) … which then leaves this issue of players in aurics with iffy builds or limited game experience.
Suspect Havoc early levels is not dissimilar from the above? (I’ve limited experience; I am taking ‘a break’ until Havoc goes away!)
Its not good.
There is a mod for that now.
For damage dealing ofc not good, but for stunlock enemies 24/7 and saving teammates from certain death + using the bubble to shield team and move forward safely this build provides the best support for team.
Purge can stunlock enemies. Not ogryns, but still. Purge have more bubbles per minute. More dmg.
