In the regular game, we have the option of 5 different difficulties (ignoring auric/modifiers). This is nice since aside from the progression story, it lets you pick a difficulty based on YOUR MOOD. Sometimes you want to sweat. Sometimes you want to chill. You want to choose how to have fun in your game! I see this happen when I’m playing with folks who are new to the game. They’ll die a bunch on Heresy and then drop down to Malice because mostly they just want to talk to their friends while purging heretics. Ya know, play a game and have fun.
As a Havoc player at rank 40, I only have 2 game mode options: SweatTide (H40) or BoringTide (everything else). Turns out, having more difficulty options besides Damnation and Sedition is a good idea and I’d like this for Havoc! Let me just pick what rank I want to play based on my and my friends moods. Wanna try some stupid meme builds, maybe we do a 30. Wanna chat and slay, maybe a 35. Ready to sweat and get wrecked by 2 tox bombers, a burgle, twins, and a captain at the same time in a tiny corridor with only one exit, lets do a 40 (for the “tension”).
So, how about it? How about more than 2 difficulty options (current rank or no rank) for Havoc players.
Deranking does not solve this. It only goes one direction. You can’t derank to 30, meme it out, and then play a sweaty 40 right after.
Party Finder does not solve this. Groups can’t really use them (a 4 stack not at all, 3 probably not, 2 .. doable, but real clunky). Regardless, Party Finder is mostly dead (for me) with little, if anything, to even pick from.
So, how about it? How about more than 2 difficulty options for Havoc players? We want to play difficulties that suit our mood. Let us pick whatever we want from 1 - assignment.
Does anyone read these? sigh
