All i really want from specials is consistent behavior and consistent interaction.
Mutants Nerfed Too Hard -
They are broken right now by the looks of it I played a quick game this morning and deliberately let one hit me it rand right through me but no grab.
Lots of bug reports about it too⦠atm damnation is so easy the gameās not even fun ![]()
That was the best part. Also, most of the time, it only happened near an object. Shoulda gone with the inverse kinematics approach so the player could see why muties turn so hard.
This isnāt deep rock galactic, fatshark doesnāt know how to animate characters to grab things in the environment, thatās a whole different specialty ![]()
Are you also a connoisseur for horizontal cave leeches? XD
I agree with the OP on basically all points. The only thing I really was ever bothered by was the hairpin turns because of how inconsistent they were. Previously if you sidestepped a charging mutant successfully, it would fly past you in a straight line and either crash or force itself to stop before turning around and trying again, however if there happened to be any kind of waist-high object next to you, such as a crate, mutants somehow gained the ability to make right-angle turns at full speed. Even if you make the argument that they were effectively grabbing some nearby piece of scenery to swing themselves around tight corners without losing momentum, this still wouldnāt make any sense.
I really thought that the extent of the mutant nerfs were just the result of an accident, like a misplaced decimal point or something. I would be astonished to learn this was deliberate, because they are utterly useless now.
Soul > Sense
Adding a grab animation would have been a peak enhancement to a fun and stylish enemy and would have given the player the information they were missing in fighting said enemy.
Iām entirely in agreement. Thereās no way muties literally running through people is on purpose.
Oh donāt get me wrong, I agree with grabbing posts. The full context was where there was no post, just a waist-high box. Mutants would still veer round these objects at high-speed, despite there clearly not being anything for them to grab onto to swing themselves round.
The patch is really⦠playing DT right now is super pointless and boring. Having enemies that are not able to do their only job is⦠sweet at best.
A rollback needs to happen asap. Having new content without much gameplay-depth or threats to deal with coming this may is like āHey, we got new graphics to watch, but thats it!ā.
I really donĀ“t know who failed at testing this and have been like āItĀ“s fine!ā.
Just as a reference⦠stood in this little corridor to bait a mutant. IĀ“ve made only a step do the left, while the mutant is pretty much as big as the corridor. It failed to grab meā¦
Just wanted to open the exact same thread in the Bug section. glad Iām not the only one who feels like they butchered my boi ![]()
I opened a bug report, as well as a couple other people, and theyāve been tagged as acknowledged. Hopefully this means something isnāt working as intended and will be fixed.
i had fun when 3 mutants were tossing me around, no damages if you are in a tight space, cant properly damage them. Now they just ignore me passing by ;(
Its a feature if its fun.
Its a bug if i donāt like it.
Let me guessā¦
It was revealed to you in a dream.
Iām just happy twin mutants canāt play basketball with my body when the rest of my team is dead ![]()
Pleaaaase revert back. You can literally stand still and the mutants wonāt hit you. This is getting way too easy now, as itās already been easy before. PLEASE FAT SHARK.
Lol, in damnation I donāt even try to dodge the mutants. And I also donāt want to kill them⦠This is such a pity to see them trying to grab you and never succeed.
I said it several times in my games: āMutants are an endangered species! Protect the mutants!ā
I think the solution is simple and easy mutants donāt spawn like they normally do.
They now spawn in packs of 4 and run at the team all at once.
Solution is simpleā¦
Freedom for the mutants! Give us back mutants as they were.
More seriously, problem was the mutants that were turning magically and could grab you even if you were at the opposite.
That was the only thing to correct, and even I am not sure as I have been, maybe, seen that 1 time or 2 in my games.
Mutants could be a tad too oppressive though in some situations.
In isolation fine, but in effect, for how hard tanky they are, if you have two, that is a very chaos enducing factor hahaha
