Mutants need a buff

He’ll never damage you if you’re against anything that he can’t walk past to, like fences, walls, taller objects

Mutants are a force multiplier and I think that’s pretty good. They’re designed to mess you up if you hang out near fires or gas or other dangerous spots by either tackling you into them or throwing you into them.
They also make ressing very hard until dealt with, which can create pressure too.

The special I personally don’t understand is dogs. The VT2 equivalent was not only harder to pin down, it also did 10x more damage. Dogs are easy to kill, easy to CC, and easy to avoid, but the only actually dangerous thing they can do to you is stunning you while an overhead or a shooter volley is already wound up on you, which feels janky and unintended because enemies will specifically ignore you while dogged otherwise.

hm, what will happen if there mutie wave and you are last man standing? so they will throw you until you die to fire or other aoe dmg?

even worse and annoying is getting yanked by the net through said crushers, so your team can’t get to you, into fire or whatever.

as for muties, i said this:

so if they do more damage, we need less of them.

Hard agreed. I’ll gladly support any buffs to the Mutant if that means reducing the absolute waterfall of meat that comes at you when the Mutie wave spawns.

Muties are responsible for some of the worst feeling instakills in the game. Mutie grab into fire, mutie grab into gunner, mutie grab into overhead, mutie grab into boss smacking you, I’ve had ragers keep smacking me while I’m in a mutie grab, the list goes on. Current Havoc spawns so much stuff that you can easily get boxed in with no space to dodge the grab. God help you if you are playing Ogryn.

There are multiple maps where it does this and instantly kills you.

Pretty sure they used to try and throw you off ledges and FS took it out because it was awful.

Mutants can be non-threatening, but they can also be run-enders. Bosses, flamers, and gunners can all ignore the fact that you are grabbed and continue to attack you, which ends many runs. There’s no need to make them worse.

Give them consistent hitboxes and working sound ques and sure. As of their current implementation, absolutely not.

I don’t understand people saying “Mutants are a massive threat!” when Trappers do literally everything they do but better

They grab you, and enemies can still attack you, especially flamers, grenades, and tada

The ONLY thing mutants have over is that they need to be taken out with melee

i’m talking about their design and not their quantity. they didn’t toss you, just grabbed you and bonk bonk bonk.

Trappers have a fraction of the health and are way easier to dodge. Like the whole design of the mutie is that it is harder to avoid but not as punishing except you can randomly instantly die to it anyway. I’d prefer a middle ground between the mutie and spawn grab either doing nothing or instantly killing you from full health.
