was perusing the steam forums and saw someone ask if there was a mod that skipped the mini games (hab dreyko tree thing etc) i figured that would be a bit cheaty and so not allowed but someone listed 4 options
is this not going over a line?

After 1000+ hours, an average year of semi-beta state of the game, an imperial edition purchased day one because I wanted to support the dev (and I still cannot forget how the x-box players got free aquilas with their standard game), the psyker staff that shoots laser beams with a simple macro, I really don’t see that line you’re talking about.

None of these mods can finish the mini-games faster than is optimally possible by a human. Their use is imperceptible to other players because of this fact. They do not break the modding policy.
I like the mini-games and will never cheese them. I recognize that not everyone feels the same way.

I have had runs fail cuz someone took it and just couldnt get it done, as there is no visible indicator of which circle is correct
ON TOP Of the circles being in f-cked positions where WSAD sometimes just cant go to the one you want.
And if there is no bubble / 2 shouts / relic
Good f-cking luck finishing that with some 11 gunners spawning with god knows how many specials.
Even on STANDARD 5 no modifier, these can be just utter garbage to do.
The auspex helper should be baseline, as there is nothing I like more - than to run around like headless chicken trying to find that one last object - as there is no range finder on auspex
TLDR There is NO SKILL involved in these, just luck
If they were like HD2 ddr inputs, no problem
But as they are now, the mods make the game better

Umm… but there is indicator which dot is correct.
- You “lock” on the dot and wait half of a second, if it’s still red move to next dot.
- If locked dot turns white - you press it.
- Repeat 3 times.
Minigame done.

Didnt know that, as there is not way to learn it.
And I refuse to play diff 1 just to see how the minigame works.
And afaik there is 5-6 dots which could be 2,5+ seconds per ‘level’
So if you are unlucky, cant pay attention, god forbid something hit you which resets this.
The entire process can go down in 3 seconds for a mod user

And yes, their sole existence is to skip some of the puzzling RNG and speed it up. Now the train one does it all for you lol (hands free).
Ethical lines are apparently so nebulous that no human mind can possibly grok them.

I feel like this would be less of a problem if they had some way of practicing these things in the main hub something like the arcade thing that hell divers have in their ships.

I mean i havent seen it my self yet but if thats the difference then it seams like cheating to me just have an ogryn on your team if its that much of an issue.

yeah, i know how this and the train one are done in theory, but not knowing them and then doing them under pressure makes people… testy. i do the 4 lines minigame, but all others + the scanning i better leave to others and protect them while they’re doing it, if they just keep this task off me.

So people are fine with invalidating the actual video game with stupid broken builds, but draw the line at a mod skipping the stupid puzzle minigame. They really do want the other 3 people in the party to stop playing the game permanently.
