Mods that should be base game please

Can confirm no knockback scaling on barrels lol

Thanks for taking one for the team lol, I meant the damage but the video made me smile all the same

Well one way to test lol.

Pox Burster: Nope

Barrel: Turns out they do have damage scaling… Bot not knockback scaling? This is honestly more confusing. This might actually be a bug? Not sure, might post that in the bugs forum.

It does.

600 isn’t that much in tides tbh.

Only info you need is about you character, learn enemies by playing the game, not via Ubisoft UI.

Bugs aren’t a justification for the making game more braindead ā€œcomfyā€ and handholding.

I like Danger Zone only because Bursters audio issues can really ruin a run, it has been countless times in Havoc where I see their ring near me but still make no sound at all

I already put a * on dangers zones. I really think the main issue there is the lack of damage fall off. That and of course other bugs.

Anyways I’m not really advocating for a overly complicated HUD, you can see mine it’s less complicated then 99% of people I have seen. I would just like more options.

Compass bar is really the only one that feels like an oversight to me, but I get it probably is less of a thing for people who mostly have experience from vermintide. But for example HD2 has almost literally the same HUD as darktide it just also has a compass bar. (Yes HD2 has open world levels, but a lot of darktide sections are sprawling as well notably the sections in carnival and hourglass) You could say it’s not needed in most missions but vermintide 2 had a big red outlined box at the top of the screen (that is the exact shape of a compass bar) present for about 80% of gameplay… I don’t think anyone ever complained that, that was cluttered UI.

I’d just like to hammer the point home that this also leads to worse games and worse players(teammates), we’ve been seeing the steady decline in both those aspects over the last decade+, we don’t need to accelerate the decline either one or both.

Suggesting adding an ESP (cheaty) mod to the base game is just silly.

Yeah I already said the main issue is with the game mechanics being dumb and the frustration that results from that. It is a extremely prevalent mod because of that, and it makes more sense to fix the base game then add a bandaid fix.

I think you underestimate just how much people love cheaty mods, they’re a ā€œsolution" looking for a problem and people will make up a myriad of excuses after the fact to justify their use.

This game just happened to make writing them and using them super easy, barely an inconvenience and they got largely normalized because of sTrEaMErs and other Gamers.

ESP mods like this should never be in a base game.

An actual accessibility mod QoL FS-built feature like a proper non-cheaty audio radar could potentially be implemented for the actual hearing impaired (both of them) where they would represent hearing with all the pros and cons and uncertainty.

Well for me I started using the mod because

1: Damage radiuses are hard to judge and way bigger then the visual effects. Specifically for pox bursters and barrels, it would be really easy to scale the visual explosions/include fragments in said visual explosion, so that you can actually see the damage radius when something explodes and get a feel for it rather then pure trial an error.

2: Lack of damage fall off makes even tiny positioning mistakes the same as getting directly flopped on by a pox burster. That’s just a bit unreasonable for how ambiguous the damage radiuses are. Trail and error would be a okay way to learn if not for the fact that the punishment for a minor mistake is basically a OHKO.

So it is a serious problem as far as I’m concerned, and that seems to be the popular opinion considering how prevalent the mod is.

Quite frankly, and I don’t know how else to put it so forgive me for being blunt and rubbing you the wrong way, but both your points sound like excuses and not valid reasons to justify using such a blatant ESP mod.

I think this may be mostly conjecture on your part and a rationalization.

Weren’t there some bugs with burster radii lately? Were those fixed? I could see using this as a stopgap but otherwise big nope.

Well it’s up to you if you think using the mod is justified or not. But can we at least agree that the visual effects are too small for their effect radius, and that not having damage/knockback falloff is a little silly? I think these things make the game much more frustrating, and also less realistic (if that matters lol).

dangerous enemies need to stand out more. like bursters should have a glowing fuse to make them clearly visible in a crowd. and the ticking sound of course be played correctly. but the problem with important sounds getting muted seems to come from the game being much more crowded than 3 years ago, so there’s hardly a solution without making individual enemies more powerful so there can be less of them.

VT2 and aging made me think i was breaking my body but actually just to exercise your gamer muscles during loading screens or at stop lights and its clear up, many self help videos on different hand exercise easy to do.

(If you load on Youtube its in english IDK WHY)

I’ve seen this one and several others, i think hand up and then down on 3:44 make my hand hurt more, especially in wrist, after some time passes doing these. Most of my pain in index finger though, along with slight numbness and tingling.

1st: wtf is in english on youtube…whats happening to my video…

Yeah i just linked the first one, generally just the stuff mentioned from 1:30-3:00 really simple stimulating hands I usually cycle through all those motions, clench unclench fist, cycle fingers to thumbs, just wiggling fingers in fast typing like motion and limp wrist with shacking at the end.

the full arm extensions ones I find a bit excessive if you like those stretch I’d recommend half ways and just putting hands together to balance out the pressures and RPing as monk or simply without using the extra hand pressure to pull back beyond ability.

C6 nerve compression in your neck or early signs of carpal tunnel.

Yah that’s true I forgot the nerve extends from hand to head, the pain could be coming from anywhere along the line. They may have to search for weakness anywhere along the track.

I used to have to rely on massage techniques from hand to head to loosen up the nerves too and good sleep, sitting and standing posture until it cleared up.

Feel nothing in neck, most my simptoms in my index finger alone, less in middle, no pain if i don’t use it as substitute for index, and even less in thumb, only noticebale if i focus on it and only slight numbness.

I also have some wrist pain, but i think it could be caused by old mouse or(and) new mouse pad with bump for wrist support, because i had another pad, but it is dirt cheap, it lost form fast, while being comfortable prior.

I am trying now lighter and smaller mouse with new pad turned to side. My hand generally lies on the table and i don’t have large angle like the ones in pictures for carpal tunnel. Though I will also try some exercisefor C6 nerve.

Yup, was literally a bare empty optics rail. Now they’ve stuck a pair of Glock-ish rear sight to the rail, but yeah, the Helbore literally had no proper sights originally, just a mounting point
