Last major update, we got a proper Dodge UI, as well as a better stamina bar. Now we get Talent Tree UX (somewhat) and Alternate Grenade Icons. This is good - you’re seeing the problems that players are addressing with mods and fixing them. The fewer mods we have to run, hopefully the better.
There are a few other mods I’d like to see implemented into the base game, mainly Numeric UI and Loadout Monitor.
Are they implemented in as good or better a way as the mods, though?
Sincerely asking because I know many people weren’t happy with the dodge counter and stamina change, comparatively.
And I mainly ask because, by patch notes alone, it seems this inclusion of talentrefundbelow only applies to blitz/aura/ability, but I haven’t tried the update. If true, this wouldn’t replace that mod at all, even though it is a nice glow up for our modless brethren.
I didn’t have a particular problem with it, just switched the stamina bar in settings to the “old” display. But I do remember people not liking it and I believe there was/is some issue with it showing an incorrect dodge amount, saw a bug report about such not too long ago.
But it also didn’t remove NumericUI for me. So it’s not gaining any ground for me, just the unmodded community. And it just feels half-assish since these are like first few month of the game’s life mods in some cases.
I don’t see any problem with adding mods that improve basic quality of life and are identical to the original mods without “our” version from Sharks. Yes, they’re trying hard, but is there any point in trying when there’s already a ready-made solution that’s been tried, tested, and liked by many? I don’t think there’ll be any difficulty in contacting the mod’s author and requesting its full integration into the base game. Unless, of course, someone says “no,” then we should make our own version. Although, again, it’s a FS game, and they can do whatever they want, and any similarities are purely coincidental)
My game runs better without the scoreboard mod I’ve noticed. I’m on old hardware, so it might not be that bad for high end systems, but I stutter far less when it’s just not there. So yeah, a scoreboard option that doesn’t lag the game would be good.
As for what I’d want - constant FoV and numeric UI. I love the hive scum, but the full screen effects for the stims and rampage could easily be a small timer bar under the crosshair instead of obscuring the field of view. Just like the arbites’ forceful stacks giving you that purple cone of shame.
Apparently the performance hit comes mostly from the animation event mod that comes with scoreboard. You can turn it off and all that happens is that you lose some stat tracking of things like enemies staggered and boss kills.
I’m still waiting for shared Simulation you could join with all your team to test something. And where you could start some challenges/fights, with ability to become (partly) invulnerable, respawn if killed etc. And with full enemy roster present too (where are the bosses FS?). And with ability to shuffle blesses and perks on weapons and curios without exiting it every time.
Same playing 100% without any mod and relly want to remove all icone for me just let the lil « . » and the the cross when equip ranged weapon. You can remove all the other stuff.
