Modded won't start with ReShade

Issue Type (Required):

Launcher

Issue Description (Required):

At any time and at any EasyAC version I suppose. I tried modded with ReShade 6 months ago and It wasn’t working. Now it’s same issue after many EasyAC updates. I know it’s ReShade because deleting it solves the problem. Maybe there was a discussion about it but I’m not sure I’ll find it so I start my own

Steps to Reproduce (Required):

  1. Start Vermintide 2 from Steam
  2. In launcher press “Play”
  3. It crashes after a couple seconds

[PC] Do You Use Mods? (Optional):

Yes, and I’ve tried disabling them

Reproduction Rate (Required):

Constant (100%)

Platform (Required):

PC - Steam

Hi @Username5764,

Easy Anti-Cheat is not applied to Modded realm, so it shouldn’t be EAC causing a conflict with ReShade in this case.

Please can you provide a crash report or your console and launcher log so we can take a look?

Thanks!

Just to jump in, I am using ReShade on Official Realm with EAC and it is working fine. Maybe you are using the add-on version and that is causing issues or smth?

Thanks @Username5764, unfortunately the logs from the crash report don’t show anything specific that highlights the cause of the issue here. As mentioned above, could the issue be with the ReShade version?

I’ve tried 3 different versions and none of them was working. I don’t really think It’s version problem but the exact file (dxgi.dll). Without it game runs without insta crashing…

I’m using default version

You should probably try a clean reinstall of the game, it’s what solved the issue for me.

Good shout from Rapax, to perform a clean reinstallation please see:

https://support.fatshark.se/hc/en-us/articles/360034118394--PC-How-to-Perform-a-Clean-Re-Installation-of-Vermintide-2-or-Darktide

Clean reinstallation didn’t help, installing ReShade again causes insta crash on modded realm

Try renaming the file to d3d11.dll

have tried before and even now, not working

Might be worth asking on some ReShade forum (if there is one) and upload your ReShade crash log there?

A lot more chances to get answers here than there so I’ll prob give up at this point. Maybe I’ll try with Nvidia filters. They are bad but It’s still way better than nothing.
