Hi there, I have been a huge fan of the game and I play on Xbox, I personally believe that mod support would be a great inclusion for consoles. I seen the announcement for Space Marine 2 and think that if GW allowed that. Darktide could also implement that.
OTOH:
TBH I see why they wouldn’t, just the fact that you usually need more RAM allocated to the Lua heap for mods makes it iffy. IDK how it would play with xbox’s mem segmentation on the X, and what about the S lower mem then?
Then there’s the obvious stuff like hosting and updating, and it would possibly require some form of curated mod list from FS to ensure stability etc. It would be too much for them given the hands-off approach they went with in DT.
It would also require going through MS for approval and stuff IIRC, another layer of submissions and approval.
I would bet it won’t happen, best you can reasonably hope for is for actual QoL mods to be baked in, but that would require FS doing some legwork then testing everything again and playing with the mem budget.
I just want scoreboard at least haha for me personally and an option for people to opt out of showing their scores if they feel it’s toxic
It may be easier to ask for what mods you want to be placed in base game. There are a lot of PC mods I think should be base.
