Issue Description:
Briefly, the armour looks dark GRAY-ish ingame whilst in the shop it’s almost white with some green bits.
I was hyped to buy said armour because I’ve never noticed anyone using it (though I was convinced it was because I didn’t pay attention and was relatively rare since it’s the most expensive set at around 1.55M gold).
Turns out it simply looks dark ingame and I could have just bought the similar reskin but for far less gold.
I realize there’s more important things to tend to, but whenever you get to it, I’d whiten it a bit more ingame so that it looks like in the shop.
That’s actually correct. The lighting in that particular place changes all the outfits. Try it.
Darktide in general is a lighting heavy game. Depending on level and light sources, you look entirely blue, green, orange, etc…
In the preview screen, you have a bright white neutral light, which makes things appear brighter and more neutral than they really are.
In the hub area the lighting is rather dark, even in places where the sun burns holes into your trousers.
In most levels it’s also dark with a strong colored hint of the environment (Forge is mostly red because of the laval everywhere for instance)
I totally understand your point and of course the lighting has to influence the looks of things, but I feel some things get represented much better than others in the shop vs what they look like ingame. For us to actually care about what items we use as cosmetics though, we need things NOT to turn into shades or dark grey, blue and other dark shades if they are not presented as such in the shop. The game actually functions close to how real life lighting does, if I stand in a completely dark room clad in white robes I still wouldn’t be visible at all. But since it’s a videogame I think we can do away with such realism at least in part.
