Maybe we don’t have it so bad

Looking at similar company to fatshark on the same engine as Dt

Arrowhead and their sheer amount of unprofessionalism, targeted poor behaviour and immaturity towards individual dedicated content creators. Compounding neglect of addressing performance issues to the point of now frying pc parts. Horrendous balance direction in direct spite of the community.

the flaws fatshark have with update cadence, poor to completely non existent communication at times, underwhelming content drops and at times hilarious balancing coming from parts of the sandbox being forgotten. Fatshark have at least improved with dt at times unlike ah that have actively regressed and gotten worse and outright negligent.

so uhhh thanks fatshark you have a lot to improve upon but you’re doing a lot better than one of your contemporaries

also pls we need the story you have now established actually go somewhere asap we need several new missions in December it’s been a year. Mortis as a audio log collection method isn’t it.

I felt as though AH was like if fat shark wasn’t technically competent with their engine. But AH has managed to step in it so consistently that, yeah, this is 100% the take right now.

Fatshark are definitely low on the totem poll when it comes to handing a live service game tier list

but seeing the sheer depths of egotism, incompetence, horrendous management and unprofessionalism of ah on display has at least made me appreciate that Dt hasn’t been that. That Sweden live service co-op gaming has a much more depraved low.

Of all the things to criticize, I’m surprised that rampant disconnects and silent Specialists didn’t make your list. Just finished a High Intensity Damnation match where I was forced to quit because every 30 secs it was either error code 2004, 2014 or flying Elites/Specialists completely ignoring hits, Trauma blast not even registering.

When the game works, it’s the best Warhammer experience hands down, but other times…

Recently I haven’t had disconnect issues. Uhhhh yay I guess

Tho ghost hits have been a consistent annoyance.

I literally don’t disagree is just

What’s worse

that

Or

By playing the game my several thousand dollar now no longer works. And the developers do no care

Like imagine if Reginald or mister E had their cpu brick because of this game. Like if your officially linked partners had brand new top of the line pc’s get fried by the game because the unoptimization has gotten so bad because it’s been left to rot with each update ignoring the critical flaws and compounding the issue that they care so little about their users that this could even be conceivable.

Also alot of the complaints are just fatshark par for the course. Fatshark has hilariously bad management hell we have a book of grudges I’ve contributed to.

We don’t have it that bad.

But we could have it much better.

And that’s imo what keeps the flame of passion alive

Is it time for another doomposting cycle of HD2?

Given that AH’s game still has 5x as many people online as Darktide does right now, and a similar gap in the 24hr peak, I’m not sure they’re doing too bad.

As someone who doesn’t frequent reddit, is there something I’m missing with Helldivers of late? I haven’t had much videogame time the last couple weeks in general.

This is the second time I read a take like this about Fatshark/Arrowhead/Darktide/Helldivers 2 and again, I must be living under a rock or must have been very lucky because I have had little to no issues with HD2 since its inception, and tonnes of issues with Darktide since its inception. Where do all these negative stances surrounding AH come from? I must watch a video essay or something about the matter, because I personally haven’t really experienced this myself, but clearly some people have.

I have predominantly had a jolly good time throughout HD2’s lifespan. That I certainly cannot say about Darktide, unfortunately.

it’s really hit or miss on who it effects i guess then, but basically the recent negative stance with arrowhead is due to their rather abysmal balancing, extreme performance issues (just overall), and gross mismanagement in basically every aspect of both the game and their community. im not gonna sit here and pretend like fatshark is the messiah, because i certainly have my problems with darktide as well, but at least the game works most of the time outside of disconnecting occasionally & the audio problems.

like frish said, we don’t have it that bad, but we could have it much better. a lot of people playing hd2 though do have it that bad with the game, unfortunately, and it isn’t getting better.

I’m always deeply skeptical of claims PCs are fried by commercial software. There are a number of fail-safes and human in the loop checks that should kick in and obvious warning signs when large modular components are overtasked. It should shut down before it burns itself out, your fans should kick up to 100% and create audible whining, your liquid cooling should have a sensor on it that beeps loudly, etc. But if Helldivers 2 is legitimately causing sudden and irreversible hardware damage, that’s pretty unforgiveable and I’m sorry it sounds like the topic creator experienced that.

Putting that aside for a second, I will say that I would much rather play “constant content slop with a good base” which is how my friends describe Helldivers 2 than Darktide. I wish Fatshark would throw random stuff at Darktide even if it didn’t work perfectly, as opposed to promising Veteran has an update coming only to release a mish-mash of existing mechanics a year later.

Please Fatshark, experiment. Even if you need to create a closed beta environment with testers to do so. Your content updates are so uninspired.

The first time I stopped playing because they made it unfun

Now I stopped playing because I don’t want to risk my pc to cease functioning

Mainly it’s their complete lack of handling performance issues to complete boiling point with the community

Balancing the game so poorly with utterly unnecessary insane additions that go against the core designs of the game and the changes they claimed to be making with the 60 day plan going forward

Their sheer immaturity and unprofessionalism towards content creators just look at eravin’s most recent video ah’s whole handling of that made my blood boil.

The whole egotism and god complex ah have gone completely mask off with now is just repugnant.

They should rename their game to Dell Hivers lol

Isn’t this word for word what Fatshark is doing?

As it stands the game is in such a terrible state that everyone I know has quit it it and moved on. The balance, bugs and lack of content make it not worth the time coming back to.

I have to admit Darktide’s game engine Stingray is actually more optimised. Using capframex to record, the lowest FPS drop is 90FPS. It will up and down obviously, 150, 200 etc.

Back when Helldivers released and I first played it I was wondering why such basic far cry graphics and capped at 120fps yet it was hammering so much.

Even Pay Day 3 - Basic graphics and it was utilising more GPU than Darktide.

With Unreal Engine 5 games you got people raising issues on steam with poor performance with hardly any NPCs on screen i.e. Alan Wake 2, Stalker 2, Resident evil etc

Killing Floor 3 beta and Borderlands 4 - Shows in high graphic fidelity and added numerous horde, performance isn’t only problem, the shader stutters.

Unreal engine 5 may be easier dev platform to code in, but I think unreal engine 5 in FS’ next game might not be best with numerous on screen presence of moving models. I think they’re choosing it as easier in development. That’s why so many games are called Unreal Engine asset flips.

We got plasma gunners for dt

They were initially completely scuffed, making the game worse with their presence. So fatshark in 2 weeks rebalanced them and fixed their audio. (Sure they really shouldn’t have launched like this)

meanwhile in hd2

We have several flavours of plasma gunners who the devs have left untouched for months despite making the game worse to play and all are blatantly unfinished.

Fs have at least worked towards catching up on dt’s balance, some weapons that got left in the gutter since skill trees have at finally been brought up to snuff and the base classes now recently all have build variety. Compared to ah recent ‘balancing’ aka add enemies to each faction that keyhole you into playing very specifically or have no fun one’s clearly at least trying to make and effort to improve the player experience and the other is actively trying to ruin it for their own flawed fantasy vision they have for the game to the communities overall detriment.

Fatshark are horrendously slow, but theirs clearly an actual direction to actually have the game actually be balanced to be enjoyable for the playerbase and not we want ‘grunt fantasy’ so screw you all.

at no point have I felt in the 3 years of dt’s mostly poorly managed live service have I have never felt that the team has actively tried do sabotage their own game to spite the community. just made repeated mistakes from poor management. But honestly there has always been an upwards trajectory with this game that launched ‘1.0’ about 2 and a half years too early.
