I think the idea of rotating maps is a novel idea, but you kinda need every map type on the map for it to work. Otherwise you have people staring at their do every mission type achievement stuck at 6/7 because there’s always that one map out of rotation. Rotate maps, but only do it if there’s a duplicate. So far we have seen duplicates of strikes, assassinations, and raids, so those should rotate between each map when a difficulty of that type expires.
But repair, espionage and disruption should always be on the board. Doesn’t have to be the right difficulty, but not even having the option to roll that map makes it frustrating. Not to mention I’d like more variety when playing, and that would be the best way to juggle it.
I disagree, I think it’s important that we’re allowed to play what missions we want at what difficulty we want. If I’m playing the game with some new friends, a map we want to play pops up but it’s difficulty 4/5. They can’t play it. This is just as bad as not being able to play the map in the first place. Or, my advanced group of friends play, but it’s difficulty 1-2. It would be way too easy and very boring - this kills replayability and makes the game frustrating.
A real solution is to let us play what missions we want. But ALSO, have the random maps on the board provide a higher reward and give incentive to play. That way we’re interested to see what’s available and want to pick a challenge. If nothing interests us then we can play what we want. This is such an obvious case of being able to eat our cake and have it too, it doesn’t have to be an if/or thing.
I really like this. It’s like rewarding for quick play (which is currently not done). It could be argued thot some missions are priority missions or whatnot.
I think the reason they did this is to increase the chance of people finding a group, but just judging by VT I never had problems finding a group. These games should just be littered with QoL things and polished to a sheen. It’s not… and it’s releasing like… now.
