Again, lack of critical thinking skills for you and all who liked your comment. You clearly make exceptions for certain circumstances that already exist within the game, such as Hunting grounds where 4 hounds can target you simultaneously (Ogryns having the weakest dodge) or Arbites (tank archetype) being able to free himself from a hound (But its too much for you to conceive an Ogryn having the same capability). So if (when) an exception were (is) made for the Ogryn, you wouldn’t have anything to say, because Fatshark themselves impleneted it, so it must be good.
Is it fair for the rest of the characters that Ogryn dodges can now knock human sized enemies out of the way but they can’t? But it surely makes sense from an IMMERSION standpoint. That’s why it was implemented.
yeah, certainly the slowest/biggest/least played character doesn’t need a *survivability boost in a game mode that spams specials and shooters. *Ability to punch a dog off of himself.
We’re talking about the simple concept of a 1 TON humanoid being able to knock a 50 pound dog off of himself.
Its been said 1,000 times. If you can master the Ogryn in Havoc, it just makes you an excellent player. It doesn’t make the Ogryn an excellent character.
Your rant isn’t as intellectual as you’d like it to be, and further proves my point that any of you lack the foresight to see how these changes would not only be sensible, but improve the uniqueness of each character and the game as a whole.
Exactly. Except realistically, the Ogryn is the only character that would/should only be temporarily disabled by a hound. Human beings really do get mauled my large dogs in reality
At this point, you’re just trying to find a way to justify why the dog can pin the Ogryn down, but what I’m trying to get you to see is that if the dog could actually do that to an Ogryn, it would outright kill the human characters.
The whole point of the post is that humans and Ogryns are not physically the same and should not be treated as such.
One of my gripes during launch was actually addressed and implemented, where I complained that it wasn’t believable for a mutant to ragdoll an Ogryn and toss him like a football. The devs actually removed an animation or two and reduced the throw distance to make it more in line with immersion. It was common sense then, and this is common sense now. Its only a matter of time before they make the change and anyone arguing against it is going to look foolish
Literally nobody would idly cheese their way through a pox pounce if they had the option to prevent it. This is a fast paced/ high adrenaline game that requires you to lock in. Again, literally nobody is going from spamming keys and clicks to just sitting back and relaxing, especially if they had a minigame mechanic for dislodging a hound. THINK before you type.
Your oversimplification of the ideas is as dismissive as your original comment.
While I didn’t agree with every suggestion, there were some takeaways that could and should actually be implemented to physically set the Ogryn apart from his much smaller human counterparts.
But I get it, you’re a simple Jack who can’t properly elaborate on his thoughts.
If people already use mods that exist to make the objective of a mission easier (you know, the thing the entire level is based on) then what’s it to you if they continue to use the same for a hound pounce? Its literally all the same. Some people are just choosing to do things that way and that’s their preference and Fatshark allows it. Your beef should be with the mods, not the implementation of a new minigame. A majority of players do not use mods, which includes the PS5 playerbase.
What are you even arguing against? You’re being a naysayer just for the sake of argument, not because you actually have any valid points to stand on.
250 is an overweight person. Like a 1.5 rejects of person.
Dog is the size of a cow.
The physics is in favor of the dog mauling the ogryn. Lore’s in favor of dog mauling the ogryn. The game is fair by comparison, when the dog leaps it gets a massive hitbox so anyone except players with tragically bad ping can push or attack them out of the air.
If they nerfed Ogryn’s dodges tomorrow, dogs would still be fine as a gameplay obstacle.
The gameplay function of getting jumped on is kinda the point, like it made even less sense for some coked out little person to steer you around on your head in L4D2 but nobody questioned it. Those enemies exist to promote the coordination of the team, your teammates are supposed to be your save when you get disabled. I don’t even like dogcop partly ignoring this but at least the more dangerous disabler is unaffected by that.
Everyone seems to be missing the key point of this entire discussion. Its specifically about the Ogryn. He’s not a human being, he would not succumb to Danny Devito steering him around, and most definitely not helplessly flail around with a dog that is a fraction of his size. Have you seen the animation? Its absolutely ridiculous lol
You brought up the Arbites dog rescue, which is a perk that is unique to him. Ogryn should have the same. He currently has the node perk which works in this scenario, but the best option would be to have it as a default trait. Ogryn should knock all enemies back when stamina is broken, with a 60 second cooldown by default.
It’s not that the Ogryn cannot lift the dog off him via his massive strength but rather that he is quite ticklish and the pox hounds are adept at getting him in his most sensitive spots.
Lol that is the only possible explanation. I would actually be content with the pounce as is, if they added Ogryn voicelines of him playing with the hound.
Well realistically the enemy has even more ogryns than we do, corrupted by Nurgle to where they have even more ungodly pain resistance, but are little more than speedbumps and pretty easy to bully around. Like if you punch one in the face with the same hand holding your axe, he’ll daze like your fist was ogryn-sized. So I think the power fantasy not cutting both ways is fine. We had a period of Ogryn being stupid, stupidly easy to play and stupidly powerful already and it made me drop the class until it was nerfed…I like having to put some squeeze in for the juice.
