Maintenance Update

I think Darktide is going to need a maintenance update for its next major update. Crafting and gameplay are in a solid spot right now, so we need to work on other problems; mainly balance and performance.

My rig is good. Maybe a couple of years outdated, but I can run most games I play fine. Darktide, however, tends to lag, and at the worst of times I can get 15fps max, maybe even less.

Ogryn has been grumped about lately for being one-note and not having access to options as powerful as the other classes, even if he is a functional character.

These are just two problems, but there are more things I want - like incorporating some mods into the base game (Psych Ward, Extended Weapon Customization, #LetUsPaint to name a few). The game ought to be more functional before we add more Content™.

If there are any concerns about losing players, Deep Rock Galactic did this a year or two ago, and it was generally well-received. It fixed a lot of bugs and problems that were happening, and the community was fine with waiting a bit longer for Season 5.

weapon customization is a beat too much to add to the game directly. if were adding mod functionality would be easier to start with the smaller(vt2) features like chatblock

I mean, one of the best things they could do in my opinion would be to simply bake in popular QoL mods so that consoles have access to them as well. Hell, just make them optional in the UI settings.

I shall also put in that you should have the ability to have up to 10 (or even 20, like I currently modded in) loudout slots. It’s a value change for them, and literally makes the game SO much more fun. Could even just make it a menu item, so people don’t HAVE to have more loudout slots/can feel like they ‘have all the builds they need’ with the current 5, but you can increase it to 10/15/20 with a dropdown.

Their UI already allows for this, so I see no reason not to do it (along with just generally trying to make the game run smoother as stated cause it is a travesty how poorly this game runs on even high end PC set ups for certain.)
