So I notice it on the training dumies(the unarmored one): my Slayer build is Slayer’s fury, Skull-splitter, Mainstay, adrenaline surge, Grimnir’s focus and Crunch! with Cog hammer and 2handed axe.
Basically a power attack to the head of the dummy with the cog hammer(jumping because im a dwarf) without crit should do around 190 damage as shown without mods. A crit to the head is around 250.(this is with all the stacks of trophy hunter and mainstay active).
I have done this so many times that i notice this the first time sienna’s last carreer dropped.
Right now it is 119 dmg on the head and a mediocre 145dmg on crit to the head.
When i switched from mainstay to smiter i did more damage, and that doesnt have any sense.
Then i didnt pick any talent at all from that line and the number where the same than when i had Mainstay “active”.
Any one have been experiencing something similar?ç

For what i can tell this bug is for the talent itself, Mainstay, since i’ve been testing it on Footknight, Warrior priest, and Mercenary
I did some testing in the fortress with the Ironbreaker class hammer and shield weapon.
It seems like it doesn’t register the number of times you stagger your opponent because with Bilwark it only gives you the 10% debuff. As a result the Mainstay talent doesn’t give you 40% and 60% with the stagger counter at 1 and 2 respectively.
It basically shows you the base damage of the weapon. It doesn’t even add bonuses to damage on the weapon or charm.
Unfortunately the dummies are buggy.
The only thing finally corrected is the damage from the bash attack with the shield which in the past only showed you the damage for secondary targets.
I confirm that the Smiter feat seems to work as well as the Enhanced Power feat.
Let’s hope they fix it but knowing the developers, not being the heart of the game, I don’t know if they will fix it.
I play on Xbox so I can’t verify if the bug is only in the fortress or also in the game.
Can those who play on PC check if the Mainstay and Bulwark talents are also buggy in the game?
the dummies are quite bad for testing stagger talents, dummies doesnt have a stagger stage. But mainstay in real enemies still work, so dont worry.
Can you tell me how to test stagger talents? with mods or something?
Use the mod “creature spawner” and “damage number” in modded realm.
For console players it isn’t possible test the talents with mods. Before this patch I remember that was possible count stagger counts…how many times you hit the dummy. It wan’t possible to PUSH…now you can push the dummy but the stagger count (no level of stagger) didn’t work. Damned Fatshark as other developers fix something and destroy something else.
I think thats exactly the case here, what is strange tho is that i didnt notice a diference between playing Against the grain in legend with mainstay active and without it and thats really strange.
I’ll try these mods and see what i can tell you afterwards

Ok so looks like Max93 was right as I expected, and I didnt notice the diference in performance or damage in legend because the diference is really not that big. So aparently with damage numbers active (mod) the dumies count stagger counts and it shows the diference, now i get roughly the same numbers as before. Seems like Fatshark enabled the push and now dont count the stagger. I’ll be testing further, but I hope this helps.
I made some tests.
For Chaos dummy don’t read the Chaos power bonus and how many times you stagger it in a row.
For Skaven dummy don’t read The Skaven power bonus and how many times you stagger it in a row.
It’s not a problem of Mainstay.
Smiter increase the damage of 20% also if the target was not already hit so with 1 the of stagger on him.
