Just weapon attachments and sights would be enough. Bayonet instead of a Flashlight, a Flashlight instead of a Bayonet, different apertures to choose from. All the Lasguns and Autoguns have the rail system right there, you even have to aim through it on the Lucius Pattern Lasguns. So why not let Players have some more agency and customise those tiny details about their weapons?
I enjoy playing with my Lucius but the naked Rail just constantly irritates me, and I’d like to change the sights on some of the guns to fit the way I use them more.
Really don’t understand how is that such a no-no, if I have a Lucius and a Kantrael Lasguns then I already have all the parts in my inventory, all it takes is take the sights off one weapon and put it onto another, this is really not tech-heresy.
Every time I see a screenshot of Hedge’s replies, I understand more and more why there are parts of this game that are defficient or dysfunctional, and my respect for Fatsharks competence goes down just a little.
Player: “Will you implement industry-standard feature X of modern shooter games?”
Hedge: “But we’ve seen that feature in shooter game Y, and our game is very different to game Y! Don’t be ridiculous!”
Ok I guess bad gunplay it is then. The mere fact someone developing a hybrid shooter would directly 1:1 associate weapon attachments with “that’s a call of duty thing” is just beyond me. I hate CoD, but I sure play a lot of shooters, and I know what features are ubiquitous in the genre.
They’re ubiquitous because they’re good ideas that add depth and personal touch to weapons. I also think most people dislike using iron sights. I hate them, personally.
Oh yeah - but we do have weapon skins - which is far more of a CoD thing. And twitch drops for them. And MTX for them. It’s a good thing they’ve completely avoided doing stuff like a CoD game.
they just need to fix the iron sights to not be all weird
also make the bayonet melee a stab and give it decent range since it’s a full length rifle
LMAO. That is an epic fail from the devs. They really are idiots.
Say that again but slowly… ‘so hard to aim with due to bad iron sights’…
You’d think that in the 43rd and half millennium they could get past using IRON SIGHTS on designated sniper rifle.
Are ranged sights not a thing in 40k? Do the snipers that oppose us use iron sights, cause it look like they have a some kick ass optics and a laser range finder.
Helbore isn’t a sniper rifle, it’s a marksman’s rifle at best.
Still doesn’t excuse the god-awful gutter sight design, I’m sure that can be improved without throwing lore out the window.
The Lucius Pattern as such is no designated Marksman’s rifle, no sniper rifle or anything. it’s the stnadard issue for the Krieg units, like the Kantrael pattern is the standard issue for Cadia.
Basically, teh Lucius Pattern should be what the Kantrael MK XII is. Higher damage per shot at a lower RoF (and less ammo)
Lucius Pattern No. 98 Lasgun - The signature weapon of the Death Korps of Krieg, the Lucius Pattern Lasgun operates in the 21 megathoule range, but is designed to draw from a standard Munitorum-issue power pack. Consequently, the Lucius Lasgun discharges a more powerful shot, but drains the power pack at a correspondingly increased rate. This also puts a great strain on the weapon, limiting the rate of fire and requiring such features as additional heat sink rings lining the exterior of the barrel. Even with such considerations, an over-taxed Lucius Lasgun can quickly overheat. The added danger of the weapon overheating does not perturb the famously stoic Krieg.
Meanwhile most of the stuff I’ve seen for the Kantrael doesn’t seem to have those nice little sights we have in the game, but instead a full on scope, even if it’s only with 1.5 to 2x magnification, it’d probably be a bit less convenient than what we got. So if FS can bolt down the nice little sight on the Kantrael, i see no reason why the Lucius shouldn’t have one.
I never knew you could blind fire while ADS, well played FS. Well Played.
