Little game to escape disablers

Sorry don’t have practice English since long time. Was more often when I was playing MMO. Have play a lots of game in my life but damn this one got something really special. Feel like just need a few ideas or a lil push to “explode” in a good way I mean.

Although I like the idea, implementing something like this is one step closer for everyone just playing private.

For new specials this would be an interesting mechanic. I would like some ideas of trappers that could cause this situation, how you escape and/or bosses even.

Maybe even revive locations instead of being tied to the ground you are slowly escorted away and you can “struggle” by spamming spacebar lol.

In all seriousness I don’t think Darktide needs QTE and if they do add them, I would keep them in the Auspecs/terminal/objective category rather than special/disabler/boss.

nah, all they need is to fix sound cues not working properly and after that we’re golden! no more getting netted because of silent trapper or dogs(as long as you pay attention and know how to dodge).

I don’t think it’s a good idea disablers are what keeps good teams close to each other and wipes out people who spread out to far.

If you just stick close to a team mate you can free them from a net before they hit the ground.

It is frustrating but it’s a core game mechanic that I wouldn’t want changed.

Really now OP? Trying to remove what little requirement for teamwork remains?

My honest response to ideas like this:

I like to think the Ogryn is distracted by petting an enthusiastic dog until someone removes it for him.

Over enthusiastic dogs in the 40k universe are immediately euthanised

Grimdark

Ogryn middle Keystone already free that for hounds.

And L4D is proof that disabler don’t need QTE or similar mechanics

Yes, I have said it before: copy the QTE event when you are pinned by a disabler in Alien: Fireteam Elite.

now we just need a Hunger in the Dark style mission where we have to disrupt a ritual with a bunch of Ogryns snuggling pox hounds before they grow horns.

If it was something cheap like getting disabled through a massive crowd of Crushers, Bulwarks, flamers obscuring your vision, or worse getting disabled THROUGH objects (a clear bug) then I can understand that frustration to some degree. Especially if the said trapper or hounds stayed silent until the net gets fired / hound is actually already flying at you. Some of those situations are unrecoverable.

Keep in mind that at its core Tide games are “cooperative” games, one of the reasons why disablers exist as enemy type. As long as you stay with your group, getting unnetted or undogged takes a split second. If circumstances separated you from your group, or worse you moved away too far by yourself, reflect for 2 seconds why it happened, you should have plenty of time

Not all missions are smooth sailing, there is always space for improvement, and sometimes you just cannot help.

Your timed typing challenge is pressing A (stick left)/D (stick right) + dodge.
It becomes way easier when all you need to do is listen for dodge.

Absolutely not. The entire point of disablers is to disable.
You’re not a hero that can somehow always escape here. You’re playing fodder. No magical quicktime escape button for you.

Also F quicktime events.

I am pretty sure you can write a program that does that for you in less than a frame

I said that because I don’t want people to be able to get out of trappers nets(you can get free from the dog).
Reasons are known innately if you have ever played a Coop game, also, there are like 34 replies that probably said most of them.

Anyway, you raised a good question, I liked that :+1:

I just ping the ground below me about 10,000 times the moment something disables me. Although results may vary depending on distance from team.

Yes for me hounds work well got always the sound before and when they disable anyone this is fair right now. But I’m not okay about how trappers work or don’t work actually so I’ve uninstall the game this morning after one more silent instant shooting trapper we never see him coming either was still in one dark door who’s spawning mobs maybe or not not so clear but feel like I wasted almost 30 min of my time. I will wait if they do something about this problems or not playing another game now. Thx for your feedback guys. Take care and have fun.

Only thing I’d change is that the Ogryn should be able to push the dog off themselves after a couple seconds, looks goofy as heck having a small doggo hold down a mountain of muscle.

The trappers shooting through geometry definitely needs to be fixed though. I’ve had them shoot through solid objects, corners of buildings and fences heaps of times before.
