Suggestion: Poxhound & Trapper Mini-Games

I know they’re trying to keep to the Left 4 Dead formula of certain enemies being capable of incapacitating you indefinitely without your team, but I think it would be cool to get a mini-game kinda like the interrogator to break yourself out of these perma-holds (provided you still have health to fight back).

Obviously your team rescuing you would be faster, but it would make these enemies less punishing to explorers while keeping them a devastating threat in combination attacks.

I actually like this idea, perhaps a minigame isn’t necessary but at least for a chance to escape. There are many instances where one guy is able to last stand while everyone on the team is trapped only for them to get trapped after 30 seconds of holding out without them or the team taking damage. It’s a super lame way to lose. I think it would be nice if you could hold E to escape on your own but takes far longer (except for the Ogryn) and when you press E, enemies will agro but if you don’t, enemies will leave you alone. You’d be able to tell your buddy to hold out for a few seconds to clear dudes away and then give them the OK to bust themselves out. This will make those enemies feel less of a cheap shot and more of the team’s skill in communication when the chips are down. This adds enjoyment and increases the skill ceiling rather than just, ‘lul why u let yourself get hit’.

I think it’s important to keep them as enemies you need your team to help you deal with if you get pinned.

Your minigame is to push poxhounds when thex try to pounce you and dodging the the nets sideways at the right moments. I rather say the hounds wayfinding need some tweaks as they are all over the place at times.

i love this idea, i think it would actually make it so that the entire team isn’t punished for having somebody run ahead of everybody else and it would also make auric damnation hordes with hounds and trappers suck much less because you can escape the dog and trapper and not die because your team couldn’t help in time.

So as not to be offtopic I didn’t agree back then. But considering how broken & cheaty the soundless trappers have been for almost a year now, I’d welcome any solution at all at this point. Remove them, nerf them, nerf the nets, whatever. All of it would just make the game better in any case.

The 7 day to close is from a bot that arrived after those threads were last updated, so they never got closed cause at the time there wasn’t a need for it.

As for the suggestion, I’m against it, there is already a trait/keystone for the Ogryn that let you do that, but disabler should be avoided or have a team mate take care of it.

i understand why you say that, however, i must disagree. not everybody can rely on team members to help them when they’re netted or pounced, honestly, not everybody wants to have to spec into a tree just for the ability to get out of a net or kick a dog off. not to mention the fact that hordes still spawn dogs and trappers on any difficulty from what i remember and i don’t think its really all that fun when you’re playing on auric and a trapper traps you after your teammates died because you couldn’t pick them up. disablers shouldn’t be as powerful as they are now and this would be a good way to make them less of a pain for auric while also not really nerfing them to the point of them being pointless.

Still remain that it’s primarily a team game.
