Just wondering if we can imagine a new mechanism for disablers I mean the dogs and trappers. What about a mini game when you are neutralized?
I mean something hard and you can try one time. Just for let a very little chance to save yourself sometimes. Could be a hard typing challenge timed like Lost Ark if you know.
When we are neutralized with a net you have to type WWADDSAESA (random and different every time) in a very short time for simulate an attempt to clear before the net is completely closed. Or dunno what every idea is welcome. And for sure we still can save players like now this is by far the best and faster option.
like the fear that a disabler can give and the clutches that people pull out of it.
Most games dont have this kind of mechanic and it sets the tide games apart imo.
The mini game is this I bet you could type faster:
"Hi all, hope you are well. By the way just thought I mention I am pinned by a dog and would appreciate a quick push to release me. Much appreciated. "
Not kidding I could type out a paragraph at 80 wpm by the time someone notices.
Part of the DNA of games like this is that if you get disabled, you are completely helpless. The reason why Left 4 Dead and Vermintide encourage teamplay so hard is that it’s damn near impossible to not get caught out by a disabler and die on your own.
Darktide’s player characters are so unimaginably strong that you can pretty easily play through an entire mission solo and not get disabled once. I’d argue the game is perhaps too forgiving in this regard, and that’s why nobody helps each other. People just aren’t used to having to help teammates.
No problem at all. A hurricane? Damn. I think there is a slightly more serious problem in the world at the moment. If we can no longer discuss without causing an earthquake, then we need to go get some air and recharge our batteries. Put the primary goal of a game back into perspective. It will be okay, it will go well.
What reduction, there has never really been a playerbase to reduce
Anyway, its all besides the point. This mechanic is a core identity of the game and while I respect that you have the guts to post on the games forums asking for a core mechanic to be changed, I think you would have more luck spitting in to the ocean to increase the sea level.
I don’t care so much. Feel like everything is definitive “This is a tide game” “this have to be like there” “this must be like this”. It’s a shame. To tell the truth I would like the game to last a little longer, I like the sensations it offers.
