+10%/15%/20%/25% on First Attack in a Chain. Subsequent Attacks have -10%/15%/20%/25% Power.
Seems like a pretty big nerf to me if your first attack does 120% damage than everything else does 80%. Would be better to have a plain axe. Sure you can reset the chain with a block but if it’s a 2 attack chain it would literally be faster to just attack again, get that -20% damage than to block and do no damage. If it’s a 3+ attack chain, sure maybe block resetting would increase single target DPS but it would be a larger and larger DPS drop per additional attack which is a Huge nerf for horde clearing.
Not to mention at higher difficulties there are less and less enemies that can be killed by a single +20% damage. Making the skill even more of a nerf
I would mind it it was just a +10% damage to first attack reset after 2 seconds of not attacking that would be straight up better IMO
I’m currently unwilling to upgrade any axes at the moment cause of this perk. I don’t want to spend a ton of resources on axe only for it tog et a DPS nerf as a “bonus”
Did I get that wrong? If you feel like you are making this perk work please share.
Do the tactical axes do more weakspot damage than a normal axe? I haven’t tested it, but there might be a reason to stack strong first attack in chain damage with weakspot bonus damage.
I’m a little wary of similar bonuses on ranged weapons. First shot in salvo bonus is a pretty long cooldown between shots, at least in terms of a fire fight. Second and third shot bonus isn’t terrible for an automatic weapon.

Power is a lot different then flat damage. It has influence over a list of stats such as:-
-Cleave
-Damage
-Stagger
-DoT strength
Personally it’s one of my favourites for the tactical axe, but I’m used to block/QQ cancelling certain weapons such as the greatsword and mace & sword from Vermintide.
It’s existence is a bit weird for newer or more casual players who have no interest in getting optimal swings and giving themselves RSI to melt hordes and just want to go ham.
It seems like the tactical axe does +25% critical weak spot damage while the normal axe does +15%. But the critical weak spot damage on the tacaxe is still less than a single normal hit on a normal axe. Tactical axe does have a much faster attack speed though. But still I don’t see a point since the next 2 attack out of 3 chain does 20% less damage.

So what is power than? not all axes have those states, only damage is universal. So it it’s not +or - 20% damage what exactly does it do than? What are the benefit of block canceling with this perk VS just having a plan axe?
Normal axes using heavy attack overhead does benefit from it; because block canceling lets you take advantage of it 100% of time without downside.
Tactical axe suffers too much from block cancel to make it worthwhile, also the best tactical axe is the one that lets you spam light attack for optimal antiarmor headshot dps.

Yeah I’m currently unwilling to upgrade my awesome purple tacaxe at the moment cause of this perk. I’ve already spent a ton of resources on it and don’t want to ruin it with a DPS nerf as a “bonus”
I’m also not entirely convinced that block canceling is actually better, since those are only 2 attack chains. IDK if it because my mouse isn’t a top gaming mouse, I use an ergonomic mouse and gaming version are crap, but, it seem the block cancel attack take just about the same amount of time as a just attacking, so it would be better to just attack twice than to block. Also a split second off in time means I just attack normally or do the push attack. A lot of extra finessing with clicks and timing for maybe a benefit?
This isn’t about tactical axe which suck. (except for the one that has singletarget anti armor optimal combo on light spam, in which case that trait is irrelevant)
This is about combat(Normal) axe.
Skill issue.
Blockcancel is the easy way.
qq is the faster way.
I tested it extensively and it does provide dps increase.
Yeah, I know the problem is that this perk can go on a tactical axe for resources that are not exactly common.
What is qq?
literally pressing qq in game
By how much and does it make it fun to use?
You’ll have to test to find out.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say you’re full of crap, and if you aren’t, it isn’t enough of a difference in DPS to warrant a taking up a blessing and it is therefore useless, just like OP stated.
Good day.
Projection.
It depends on how capable your fingers are, that’s why you need to test it out on your own.
The fact that you don’t get it is why you’re the one who is infact full of crap.
Have a crappy day.
looks like you know you’re bad
I’m gonna wait for someone else who knows what alpha damage means to explain to the noobs why +20%~ on first attack can be decent.
Akshually fail.
You’re literally too inexperienced to talk about these things.
That image depicts yourself absolutely perfectly. Did someone else use that on you?
